The NSV protest
As we announced on this page earlier, NSV held a protest in the Antwerp student area yesterday.
As is always the case, the extreme left Blokbusters organised a counter demonstration, which, as is always the case, led to rioting.
The Antwerp police arrested 55 people, all of them left wing demonstrators, as well as people who, with the intention of causing trouble, had mingled with the extreme left subjects.
Nobody who took part in the NSV protest was arrested.
Afterwards, Geert Cool, responsible for Blokbuster, announced that his organisation will complain to the Comité P (The Police Watchdog Commission) and to mayor Patrick Janssens, Cool finds it unacceptable that some police officers have infiltrated the extreme left protesters.
He thinks that, by doing so, the police have abused the good reputation of Blokbuster (sic).
Further, he does also not agree with the fact that the Blokbusters had to sign a document in which they declared to agree to be held responsible for any damage that might be done. This was a condition for their protest to be allowed.
He claims that, in the future, documents like that will not be signed again, in other words, his gang members should be allowed to do a lot of damage, but the tax payer should be held responsible for the expense of those damages.
Further, the manipulated journalism by VTM was glaringly obvious again.
VTM showed a clip from the protest, they did mention riots, but they said it in a way which made it look like NSV had been rioting, also, once again they had to mention the 'right wing' students (although, they are making progress, their favourite label 'extreme', or 'far' was not added to it), obviously, the word 'left' was once again non-existent when they mentioned the opposition.
They also tried to make the viewers blieve that the extreme-left wingers were holding a 'peaceful' protest against youth unemployment.
The film clip can be watched here. |

A bit of humour (Or not?)
You can still see it as humourous, however, who knows, it might become bitter reality.
On our media page you can find a film clip which gives you an idea of how our discos could look in about ten years time.
For your ease of use we have added a new feature: from now on you just have to click on the link we add to articles referring to media, this will take you straight to the media page, also straight to the right place on the page, so you do not have to scroll to the bottom of the page to look for the mentioned clip anymore.

Spoke too soon again
Flemish integration packs in Belgian Embassies

A headline from "Het Laatste Nieuws".
I have clearly, once again sng N-VA's praises too soon in a previous article, as, once again, they show their true colours.
"Letting people follow integration courses in their country of roigin is a good idea", says Geert Bourgeois (N-VA, pictured). Because that can only be authorised at federal level, The Flemish government can only ask the federal government to offer information packs about Flanders.
This request was honoured, so that inhabitants of countries such as Turkey, Morocco, Russia, Pakistan and Iran can prepare voluntarily for their entry in Flanders".
He speaks those words after Foreign minister Steven Vanackere (CD&V) has allowed the integration packs to the Flemish government, which are the demanding party.
In other words, Bourgeois thinks it is a great idea to throw our tax monies around, and also to open the gate even wider, so even more people would find the way to the land of milk and honey.
N-VA also showed what they stand for again yesterday, after Jan Peumans scolded Filip Dewinter (Vlaams Belang) because he demanded that a muslim woman with a head scarf in the public gallery, where you are normally not even allowed to wear a cap, would either take off the head scarf, or leave the gallery. Peumans got an applause for this from all seats (except those of Vlaams Belang, of course), which once again shows what we have in our Parliament.
The lady also applauded Peumans' reaction, while it is strictly forbidden to show approval or disagreement with thing that are said in Parliament from the Public Gallery. A Fleming would be immediately removed for doing this. Did that happen to the lady? I think you know the answer.
Reader's reaction
I also want to share a reaction by a reader of "Het Laatste Nieuws" with you:
"Earlier this week, N-VA-MP Helga Stevens said it was problematic that the income of the CGKR (The Centre for Equal Opportunities and Against Racism, an organisation which does everything for immigrants and discriminates their own people) has decreased in the past years. She wants to modify the income of the centre, as they are "highly credible", those are her words. N-VA are really becoming anti-Flemish. A centre that spits out its own people is now being defended by the party. In my eyes, there is only one real Flemish party left."
It looks like many people are beginning to open their eyes, as there are quite a few similar reactions.
Maybe N-VA can wave flags around showing a lion with a crescent above its head at the new elections in 2011.
High time the Flemings started thinking seriously before casting their vote.

Even he already knew
General De Gaulle had seen it right in 1959.
He must have had a crystal ball... they might finally wake up in Brussels
It is not blah blah or clap trap, … it was really said in 1959…
On March 5, 1959 general Charles de Gaulle (1890 - 1970, pictured) spoke remarkable words. They were written down by the French politician, former minister and author Alain Peyrefitte
"It is very good there are yellow, black and brown Frenchmen. They prove that France is open to all races adn that this country has a universal attitude. However, only on the condition that they remain a small minority. If not, France will not remain France. We are, after all, in the first place a European people of the white race, with a Greek and Latin cultural background, and we belong to the Christian religion. We do not have to tell each other fairy tales. Have you ever observed the muslims in their turbans and djellabas ? You do see immediately they are not French, don't you? Those who preach integration have the brain of a humming bird, even though they are highly educated. Just try to mix oil and vinegar by shaking the bottle. After a short while they will separate again. Arabs are Arabs and Frenchmen are Frenchmen. Do you believe the French community can absorb 10 million muslims, of which there will be 20 million tomorrow and the day after tomorrow 40 million ? If we did aim for integration and if all Arabs and Berbers from Algeria would be considered to be French, how could we prevent that they find their way to our cities, where there is a higher standard of life ? My village would no longer be called Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises, but Colombey-les-Deux-Mosquées" (*).
Consecutively (above) you will find an article where the above statement was once again totally ignored by a so called "Flemish" party.
(*) Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises means Colombey of the two Churches, Colombey-les-Deux-Mosquées means Colombey of the two Mosques

This may be said too

Regular visitors of this website know that I regularly have a go at N-VA when they do not behave in a straightforward manner, or when they show signs of hypocrisy.
However, I also stick to the principle "If things are good, it may also be mentioned".
Well, that principle is, in my humble opinion, due now.
Yesterday, the president of the Flemish Parliament, Jan Peumans (N-VA, pictured) decided not to attend the king's New Year's speech at the palace in Laken.
He said he did not want to attend "because he is a republican", as a result of which he was praised by Vlaams Belang (the only ones in fact).
He had asked deputy president Carl Decaluwé (CD&V), to substitute for him at the palace, though the latter was not allowed in by an employee of the Home Office.
As a result of that, Peumans is once again heavily criticised by all oppostionparties and government parties (Except Vlaams Belang and of course his own party).
Bart De Wever about the matter

Party president Bart De Wever (N-VA, pictured) says the king "is the political opponent of N-VA".
Hdefended his party fellow's decision as follows: "If the king invites me for a functional audience, I am going to Laken (sic). But when it concerns parties, receptions and social matters we say no".
More straightforward words than usual by the N-VA-president.
On our media page you can watch a short film about the incident in the Flemish Parliament, in which we also hear the reply by Carl Decaluwé (belonging to the party of the five minutes of political courage).
As is always the case, the latest clips are at the bottom of the media page.
Below, you can also vote to give your opinion about Jan Peumans' decision:

Longing for old times?
Kurt De Loor (sp.a) thinks the best solution to get out of thee institutional crisis is to go back to the old system of electoral districts.
He directly takes over the stance of the francophones by saying "Contrary to what especially Flemish-nationalists like to make you believe, the Constitutional Court does not say that B-H-V must be split at any price".
He also thinks that a return to the old system "will bring politics closer to the people again".
So, in other words, first there was a price to be paid to abolish the old system, and now another price should be paid to return to that system.
Why don't we just set up a Direct Debit to give our savings (in case we still have any) straight to the Walloons? |
28/01/2010
BHV again.

Jean-Luc Dehaene (CD&V, pictured) had a brilliant idea again.
The former prime minister now wants to postpone a solution for BHV until after the federal elections of 2011. He does know, however, that something about the current situation is not right, as he wants to work out an emergency solution for the 2011 elections, in order for those elections to be legal, with which he admits that, under the current system, the elections are not legal.
Dehaene also adds that by then, the francophones will be willing to negotiate about a state reform. That soon?
And what about the 'five minutes of political courage' announced by his party fellow and current prime minister Yves Leterme?
Opinion by Jean-Marie Dedecker

According to Jean-Marie Dedecker (LDD, pictured), the Flemings are once again kept sweet by this decision, and once again, half measures and solutions are being worked out.
He also thinks this goes right against the promises with which Yves Leterme (CD&V) won the elections in 2007, and that the francophones get what they wish again, while the Flemings have to make do with a little something to keep them quiet.

Orderly.

The study department of Vlaams Belang got a scenario ready for the split of Belgium. The piece will be introduced on Saturday January 30th on the colloquium O2, which means Ordelijke Opdeling (Orderly division). This was announced by Gerolf Annemans, Chamber fractionleader and head of the study department of the party. "We do not preach revolution, but an orderly division", he states.
Flanders as 'follow-up state'
The scenario is 218 pages long and it states that the split has to occur according to determined principles and in a state of proper understanding. It is better that an independent Flanders does not become a new state, but a follow-up state of Belgium, as a result of whic international treaties do not have to be negotiated again.
Debt
For the division of debts we need to look at who caused them. Brussels is preferred by Vlaams Belang as a Flemish bilingual capital. If that is not possible, it should become a city state which forms a confederation with Flanders.
Sneer at N-VA
Annemans is also very sharp for N-VA and its president Bart De Wever. The step by step strategy of N-VA has lead to nothing according to him. "The novelty always wears off", he concludes. (belga/edp)

Hence the denial.
CD&V puts Luc Van den Brande forward as president of the board of VRT

CD&V puts Luc Van den Brande (CD&V, pictured) forward as president of the board of the public broadcast. This reveals VRT and it has been confirmed by a reliable source.
According to CD&V, VRT now needs a real leader, next to a new CEO who has yet to be appointed. The party sees in Luc Van den Brande, whio has a heart for the VRT, as the most suitable person to preside over the board.
Thus far "Het Laatste Nieuws", so, first there is the denial by Kris Peeters, but his predictions are quite often like his party, ie. totally untrustworthy.
CD&V goes on that he would be able to do the job in an independent way since he is no longer an active politician (or rather, that the golden egg after his political life will be very welcome).
Cd&V again adopts the principle "Own people first", and what do we see?
Bart De Wever and his N-VA club are left out in the cold.
I think N-VA will not feel any gratitude towards CD&V. Another step further from being in the same bed again.
Now 'Bart's gang' wil probably start going against CD&V proposals and/or begin to criticise, like they did earlier this week with Pieter De Crem.
Or, who knows, maybe, as a consolation N-VA will be allowed to nominate a friend or family member for CEO. |

An antic, that's all.
Threatening e-mail to Dewinter and daughter was an antic

Yesterday a 14-year old boy and his friend from Borgerhout were taken in for sending death threats to Filip Dewinter (Vlaams Belang, pictured) and his daughter via e-mail.
Detectives had followed Filip Dewinter and had also discretely shadowed his daughter.
Via the e-mailaddress they managed to find the culprits.
However, they will not have to appear in front of the youth magistrate, they will have to report to the youth prosecutor where 'appropriate measures' will be taken, because the threat is 'only' seen as 'an antic'.
Very strange that the threats against Fabiola can be taken very seriously, or, had it been against another politician, eg. Louis Tobback or Yves Leterme, would it still have been 'an antic'?
Also, given from which town the threats came, and the fact that 'appropriate measures' will be taken (I already have strong suspicions what those will be) really makes me think. |

The cat that licked the cream.
N-VA provides new president of VRT, Kris Peeters denies

The latest on the men who "were not joining a government before...", the men who like waving lion flags about, the men who want to be in bed with their old partner again, what else shall we call them?
Well, their former partner certainly taught them everything, especially hunting for positions.
Now there is once again a political deel between the majority parties (it must be good to be among them) of the belgicist government, and also the club of N-VA is not forgotten.
That is probably the "fat fish" top man Bart De Wever was talking about, namely power and getting assigned to top jobs.
In the deal, N-VA will probably get honoured with being able to supply the new VRT president, although minister-president Kris Peeters (CD&V, pictures) strongly denies that.
The same Kris Peeters also strongly denied that Herman Reynders was going to be the governor of the province of Limburg, and we have seen the result...
Poor Flanders, that is all i can say, if our rights and demands have to be protected by such hypocritical fake nationalists who do everything to keep a belgicist government in power.
All this of course for the benefit of...

The whole of Europe should take a leaf out of this book!!!

Muslims who wish to live under the Sharia law were asked on Wednesday to leave Australia, when the government addressed the fanatics in an attempt to prevent potential terror attacks. ·
Separately, Prime Minister Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by declaring that he supported the intelligence services which keep an eye on the mosques in the country.
Quote:
'THE IMMIGRANTS, NOT THE AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT!
Accept this or leave. I have had enough of the fact that this nation keeps woorying about offending an individual or a culture. Since the terror attacks on Bali we have seen an enormous increase in patriotism in the majority of Australians, one like we have never seen before.'
'This culture has developed during two centuries of struggle and trial and error by millions of men and women who had freedom as a final goal.'
'We predominantly speak ENGLISH. Not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian or whatever other language. Therefore I tell you: if you wish to be part of our society, you have no alternative than to learn OUR language.'
'Most Australians believ in God. This is not radicale right wing political talk but a true fact, because Christian men and women have founded this nation, based on Christian principles, and this is clearly documented. And it is most certainly appropriate to show this fact on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, I suggest you consider to call another part of the world your home, as God is part of our culture.'
'We accept your religion, and we shall not wonder why. The only thing we ask of you is that you accept our religion and show the desire to live with us in peace and harmony.'
'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR SOIL, and OUR WAY OF LIFE, and we are willing to give you all opportunities to enjoy those. But if you finally stop complaining, moaning, tearing up our flag, running down our OATH, our Christian faith and our way of life, I urgently advise you to use another Australian privilege, :' · 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE!' ·
'If you are not happy THEN LEAVE. We have not forced you to come here. You yourselves have asked to come here. Then accept the country that accepted you.'

Another U-turn.
Bart De Wever does not want a state reform before 2011

There goes Bart De Wever (N-VA, pictured) again.
He is no demanding party for a state reform before the federal elections in 2011. This is not the moment to do such a thing, not with the Flemish parties which are currently in the federal government, he thinks.
"For coming to an agreement such as one over the budget, or about asylum and migration, I am not a demanding party", says De Wever in an interview with 'Le Soir'. The N-VA-president does hope, however, that the Flemish voters will give a signal that there has to be a state reform in 2011.
He even blames Yves Leterme (and rightly so, but...) that "he moves away from all his wishes and the reforms he deems important" and "that he is not capable of realising his own programme".
As I said, fair criticism, but we can talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
Bart De Wever seems to forget he is a perfect clone of the ideal CD&V'er, someone who constantly throws his principles to one side so he can stay in a position of power.
On one thing I do agree with him whole heartedly: I too hope that the voters will give a perfectly clear signal in 2011, namely by not letting the hidden belgicists of N-VA make the electoral minimum.

Flanders beats Wallonia.

Flanders is used to having to be the minor of Wallonia, though not when it comes to sports.
In a blood curdling final in Brisbane (Australia), our Kim Clijsters (pictured) beat the Walloon Justine Henin, the sets ended in 6-3, 4-6, 7-6, it was no final for heart patients.
There was also a die hard belgicist present, whose banner they had to show a few times. However, I wonder, if that chap is so unity minded, why did his banner say "Belgium - Belgique", so, where was the Dutch name of the country? (And the German one, come to think of that).
Probably another unitarist for the sake of money.
Talking about money, Kim has made a wonderful gesture: she went to visit the Children' Hospital in Brisbane, and she thought, "I myself was lucky to be blessed with a healthy daughter, what could I do for those children?"
Then she knew: she is donating every penny of her prize money to the Brisbane Children's Hospital.
What a beautiful gesture!!!
When this was announced, Kim immediately got a standing ovation.
We do this too: Thank you, Kim and WELL DONE!! |

One too many.

It looks like the MPs in the Senate celebrated the New Year again.
Michel Daerden (PS, pictured) proved this (not the first time, in fact) when he answered a question by Geert Lambert (SLP), he did speak Dutch all the way through, but it was clear that he was far from sober.
You can watch Daerden in action here (Dutch only, but it illustrates the state he was in).
Therefore, N-VA now demand, through their spokesman Jan Jambon, that minister Daerden be dismissed.
We would like to hear your opinion: on the left you can vote whether or not you want Michel Daerden sacked.
Besides, from now on there will be a poll on the website regularly.
Happy voting.

We are improving.
Following the notice of three days ago, where we announced that a number of e-cards were added, we can now tell you that we keep improving the e-card system..
Not only have we added a good number of cards (there is already a nice Valentine selection), but we also added a category (Mother's Day), and lots more categories will be added soon.
Furthermore, the system where you can prepare a card up to 30 days before sending is now operational. The card will then be sent automatically on the chosen day. Also, there will be a news bulletin on display on the e-card page to keep you informed about changes or improvements.
A quick reminder: the e-cardsystem is completely free, and becoming a member is not obligatory (however, if you want to become a member, feel free to do so, there is still no charge). As a member, we automatically keep you informed about changes or improvements.
So, start sending to friends, family and loved ones.

Off to a great start.
The new year has indeed started brilliantly.
To begin with, it is estimated that Flanders will gain an extra 60.000 unemployed this year (I wonbder why).
Thus reveals Flemish minister of employment Philippe Muyters (N-VA, pictured below).

N-VA makes it in the headlines more and more recently, just keep reading.
Then we get the news that Flemish minister of culture Joke Schauvliege (CD&V) has decided that the Committee of teh Pilgrimage of the Yser, starting next year, and certainly until at least 2015, will no longer get their allowance. It also struck lately that the CD&V'ers did not have the (five minutes of political) courage to show their faces at the Pilgrimage (imagine Chief Di Rupo spotted them there), and more gets revealed when we get a hint from the website of De Tijd where they write "The committee especially calls CD&V to order". (Sounds quite clear to me).
Now, that 'calling to order' also has to be taken with a pinch of salt, as the Pilgrimage has quite gone the CD&V path in recent years, ie. saying yes and no at the same time, and any radicalism can hardly be found now. After Lionel Vandenberghe pulled everything more and more to the left and messed the whole event up, there is not much left of the original demads of the Pilgrimage.
We are talking an amount of €150,000 (£134,801, $215,330) per annum, those are the annual means made available to the Committee.
Well, not to worry, the Wake of the Yser has been doing it without any allowance for a number of years, but, just compare the attendance, how many people are left going to the Pilgrimage, and how many of the former visitors have already started going to the Wake.

We mentioned our dearest Elio Di Rupo (PS, pictured below) earlier, well, he stunts once again, he now says in La Libre Belgique that he, after the government parties agree on the proposition by Jean-Luc Dehaene (another one of the anti-Flemish dinosaurs), wants to involve the (left wing) opposition parties Ecolo, Groen! and sp.a in the BHV case too.
Where does that man get the cheek? And, either all opposition parties or none, instead of trying to win the left (even the Flemish left) for his case, besides, Groen! and sp.a will love to join the 'great and almighty' PS.
We think it is sad, the man with the dicky bow can just go on to take Flanders hostage, and can go on doing what he likes without any opposition from anyone.

Also, N-VA, in the person of Ben Weyts (pictured below) warns sp.a and Groen! 'not to fall into the trap of the PS'.
He thinks the support by those parties 'will lead to a bad result for Flanders'.
Weird, when you think about the fact that N-VA goes on supporting a government which yields bad results for Flanders, and that they vote against propositions of other Flemish opposition parties, propositions which maight make it easier to come to a solution, or abstain from voting to keep up appearances.

The hypocrisy of N-VA goes further:
'Yves Leterme has gone the same way as Guy Verhofstadt. He has mutated from Flemish foreman to Belgian statesman, that creates immobilism and blockages'. Thus said Flemish N-VA-minister Geert Bourgeois (pictured below) on Monday night in Terzake (a program on Canvas) in a reaction to statements the Prime minister made earlier in the day.
Bourgeois also denies the statement by Leterme that the Flemish government no longer thinks the reform of the State is a priority. Prime minister Leterme pleaded for a co-operative federalism earlier that morning.
Leterme, Flemish foreman, what a laugh, what of his 'Flemish' programme, which did get him 800,000 votes, has he realised? Now he is back in the seat in Wetstraat 16, not much is left of his 'five minutes of political courage'.
And, Bourgeois, why critisise, your party has helped the CD&V into the seat yourselves, 'were not going to join a government before.....', but you do carry on, lured by the profits, and like real CD&V folks (even if they are called N-VA) ,to support Leterme and his government.

Filip Dewinter gets death threats on muslim site

Filip Dewinter (Vlaams Belang, pictured) wants the Dutch authorities to take measures against a muslim website on which they utter death threats against him.
"Death to this kaffer (1)"
On www.ansaar.nl there are texts which state that Dewinter's head "must be chopped off" and "death to this kaffer". An Arabic text states that Dewinter must show remorse. If not, he will die.
Filip Dewinter takes those threats seriously and has therefore written to the Dutch Justice minister Hirsch Ballin geschreven to take measures.
(1)Kaffer: from the Arabic word Kafir (an infidel).

We lost a great artist.
Comic strip artist Jef Nys (82) has died

Comic strip artist Jef Nys has died.
The spiritual father of "Jommeke" was 82 years old.
Jef Nys was born on January 30, 1927 in Berchem.
He studied at the Academy for Beautiful Arts in Antwerp and quickly excelled there with his drawing talents.
Shortly after WWII he was noticed during a contest of the satiric newspaper 't Pallieterke. This was the complete breakthrough for his career.
The first album of Jommeke (Pictured on the right), "De jacht op een voetbal (The hunt for a football)", came out in 1955.
The first comic strips by Jef Nys were the adventures of Amedeus and Seppeke in Het Handelsblad (1948). He also drew the adventures of Langteen en Schommelbuik (1963), but Nys became especially known as writer and graphic artist of the series Jommeke.
Flanders has lost a great artist.
Our sincere condolences to the relatives.
It has been determined, however, that the Jommeke stories will be continued.

Referendum Antwerp.

The inhabitants of Antwerp have said NO to Lange Wapper. (1)
He is only allowed to remain at het Steen! (2)
(1)Lange Wapper was, according to the legend, a water ghost, recently they wanted to build a bridge in Antwerp, named after him, but that caused a lot of commotion, resulting in a referendum.
(2)Het Steen is the castle you see in the picture. In front of it is a statue of Lange Wapper. |

The cowards and Judases show their true colours again.
This is the Kehrweg Stadium in Eupen
It is the home of AS Eupen (2nd division). AS Eupen gets an average of 1,200 spectators.
On 14th of October Herman Van Rompuy (CD&V) promised Karl-Heinz Lambertz (Minister-President of thee German speaking community) to reserve money for a new stadium in Eupen, aimed at the WC of 2012. It would provide seats for 12,000 people (a comparison: at the moment there are 566 seats, Eupen has 18,000 inhabitants)
Also on 14th of October, Karl-Heinz Lambertz promised Herman Van Rompuy he would call a conflict of interests against the split of BHV
Coincidence?
Source: Nieuwsblad.be (Dutch only)
The above was taken from the TAK newsletter.
A few thoughts:
- What do the German speakers have to do with BHV?
- Why does Van Rompuy have to negotiate a conflict of interests again? Too chicken again to take his responsibility?
- The majority parties, including N-VA, voted against a proposal by Joris Van Hauthem (Vlaams Belang).
Especially the last point should seriously offend many a Fleming. The N-VA, still, making heavy Flemish statements, but fill their pockets along with the belgicists.
Then they still show the hypocritical face of their leader in an article where people find him suitable to become mayor of Antwerp. Disgusting!!!!!!
Hopefully the people will open their eyes once and for all at the next elections.
A few more words about the refused proposal:
Opposition party Vlaams Belang proposed that the Flemish parliament would write to the parliament of the German speaking commyunity to ask them not to call a new conflict of interests. The majority parties CD&V, sp.a and also N-VA voted out the proposal by Joris Van Hauthem.
This from the ones who would never go into a government before BHV had been split. |

Interesting and scandalous
Planned for tonight:
This year, the NSV! Antwerp open their academic year with a unique 'cross-examination'. This time we will be 'grilling' the 'controversial' president of the British National Party (BNP). We count on the Antwerp students, who are always present in vast numbers for our debates, to interview Nick Griffin with critical questions.
The evening will be led by a moderator according to the principle 'your questions, his answers'. You are very welcome on Wed. 7 October at 8pm.
IMPORTANT:
The Antwerp University has one-sidedly broken the contract and forbids us to enter the UA. As NSV! we took legal action, but apparently freedom of speech does not go for nationalists... Therefore we assemble at 8pm in the Rodestraat on the public road(!) from where we go to a new location.
This location will be revealed there and then.
Under no circumstances is the UA to be entered!

(Extreme)left will be heard here too...
...as long as it is in Flanders' interest.
Refused by 'De Standaard' and 'De Morgen' !
Jef Turf sent this opinion to De Standaard and De Morgen. None of those newspapers were interested to publish the piece. Please spread the word. Thank you.
WHO IS JEF TURF ?
Jef Turf is co founder of the Gravensteenmanifest, former president of the Flemish wing of the Communist Party, former political director of De Rode Vaan (The Red Flag, a former Communist magazine), stood at the cradleof the Flemish Marxist Magazine and the Masereelfonds.
"I am convinced that the independence of Flanders and Wallonia would be a good thing for both peoples, especially the working population."
( Jef Turf in an open letter to ABVV (The Socialist Trade Union) - October 2007 )
BRUSSELS BELONGS IN AN OPEN VLAANDEREN - by Jef Turf
A while ago, the boys of Clouseau (A Flemish Pop Group) were allowed to finish off a frequently watched show on ONE, they were the most important guests, with their song “Leve België” (Long live belgium). It put me, who just happened to witness it, at ease. If the belgicist propaganda has to stoop to this level, then the Flemish movement is on the right path.
Since the Saint-Michaels Treaty, I have noticed there are no longer any compromises possible between the Flemish-nationalism and the Belgian powers that be,compromises which yield a gain for all parties involved, as was the case years ago. Up to then, the establishment could have given in to Flanders in certain ways through state reforms, and in doing so, they temporarily consolidated the Belgian state. In the 1990s this game reached its limits, with the 2000s we saw the start of a neo-unitary contrareformation. With all their power and money and via their old-pal-networks, the Belgian powers that be were able to have the Flemish mass media and all sorts of “Well known Flemings” on their side. But nevertheless, the last elections of June 7 revealed an electorate which votes more and more Flemish minded. Which is why nowadays, the belgicisth mass psychological influencing process is driven to levels which were never seen before.
After more than 50 years of left wing engagement, I still feel as ready to fight as I have always felt. I have never hunted a phantom mass capital, whose unreachability could discourage me. Capitalism is a concrete social system, made by men, and expanded in time and space by men, accompanied by a liberal ideology. It can be diminished and even be abolished in the same way. The fight for a better world must take on a strategy which aims to snatch progressive and local territories out of the hands of local capitalists, so ordinary people can own them too.
The local address of the world capitalism we are dealing with here, is of course the Belgian state. It is true that state has changed formally, because of 175 years of social and community compromises, however, it remains a creation and an instrument of the bourgeoisie. The class struggle has created us a conflict between two projects for national formation, in which the stake is: the political, economic and cultural path to be followed. On one hand there is the project of the Belgian class, which tries to streamline the population according to the demands of the global capital. On the other hand there are the projects of the Flemish and the Walloon people, with their current tertiairy foundations, whose history, though partly based on pre-Belgian facts, is indeed the history of their fight against the Belgian state (and not against each other!). Of course I place myself with the latter, and I hope from the bottom of my heart that, one day, they can become two friendly, post-capitalist neighbouring states, which support and strengthen each other.
In my opinion, Flemish-nationalism is a force which can give shape and strength, not only to aiming for an autonomous Flanders, but also to the struggle for a more participative form of democracy and a more honest division of wealth and power in that new state.
But the controversy surrounding the appeal of Frans Crols on the latest Wake of the Yser to abandon Brussels shows that Flanders is unfortunately still struggling too much with its own national identity. We have not yet given a clear answer to the question of how the Flemish community should be described and based upon what. Who belongs to the Flemish nation? Where are the boundaries? I think the answer can never be that only the one who has Dutch as a mother tongue can be a Fleming. The answer can never be that Brussels does not belong to Flanders because it is mainly francophone and has a population that consists of foreigners for 50%. I do not want a small Flemish resolution for the problems around Brussels.
Flanders and Brussels undoubtedly have one vertical economic integration around one effective division of labour. There is, in other words, only one Flemish economy and Brussels is the engine of that economy. Abandoning Brussels would leave us with a Flanders with a deadly wound in its territorial integrity. But there is more.
I dream of an adult, inclusive Flemish republic, in which, geographically limited to the Brussels agglomeration, a francophone community enjoys cultural rights, a bit like the German speakers within Wallonia. I dream of a tolerant, an open but very self aware Flanders, which can easily handle the presence of 10 to 15% francophones and immigrants on its territory, without endangering its own identity and further existence.

(Note: I would have posted and subtitled the video on the site, but the sound quality was so bad that it would have been practically impossible to do so, hence, Dutch only).
The Red Tongue of the Lion, putting left wing flamingantism on the map.
Although I do not agree with Jef Tufs' article 100%, it does have some valid points which would be good for Flanders.

Things are great once again
Once again riots in Molenbeek

Last night it has (once again) come to heavy riots with "youngsters" in Molenbeek.
Nine police officers got injured when cobbles and even gas cylinders were thrown at them.
Arrest
It all started when the police went to arrest a 14 year old boy. The day before yesterday, he was involved in a theft, and later, he had constantly provoked and insulted the police.
At the time of his arrest, the family protested loudly, and the police were surrounded by some twenty people.
After the police managed to take the boy in, the family came to protest in the police station, accompanied by a group of about sixty people.
At that stage, two police officers got injured, one was hit in the leg by a stone and the other one was punched hard in the face.
The relatives of the 14 year old had to run away then, but the protest expanded to nearby streets, where patrols of other police areas came to reinforce, the water cannons and helicopters were put into operation.
One police officer also got injured when a gas cylinder, thrown down from the second floor, hit him in the back.
The riots could not be got under control until 2 am this morning.
In total 7 rioters were arrested, the 14 year old, whom the riots were all about, will have to appear in the juvenile court.
Bleak future
And things can only get better, when we know that, during the coming regularistions not 80,000, but 350,000 illegal immigrants will get their documents.
As long as the authorities are going to give criminals a free hand, I see a very sad future for us.
On the added pictures (Source: 'Het Laatste Nieuws') you can see some examples of the damage that was done.

Would they have the nerve?

According to the State Security the Antwerp imam Nordine Taouil (pictured) is a muslim extremist of the salafistic-wahabitic line. He also seems to be an active militant in salafist organisations and he alledgedly also organises training for young Belgian muslims in radical koran schools in Pakistan.
The imam was at the centre of attention during the protests against the head scarf ban.
If the things written above turn out to be true, security services will have to do what must be done.

Is the constitution valid now?

Minister of Education Pascal Smet (Sp.a, pictured above), thinks the ban on head scarves could be contravening the constitution.
He said this when he was questioned in Parliament by a special commission who deals with the matter.
The minister emphasised he has no authority to impose rules about wearing head scarves.
A bit odd, the current status of BHV also contravenes the constitution, and no one speaks out, while the matter has been going on for years.
Also odd that thee minister now all of a sudden declares "he is not authorised", he probably has to keep pampering the favourite voters for his party.
I wonder what his 'friends' would do to thank him now the minister has openly declared to be gay.
Anciaux
Also Bert Anciaux (Sp.a, pictured on the right) has to give a sign of life. He calls the head scarf ban 'totally wrong', and adds to that: "A community which takes that decision, is not my community", as written on his blog. Furthermore he thinks he needs to add: "After a 9/11 of extremist violence, we got a 9/11 of narrow mindedness and fear", thus says the one who goes to the Pilgrimage of the Yser every year to fight for the freedom of Flanders (or at least, so he claims). |

Congratulations Kim
Our Kim has done it!!!
She won the US Open.
Kim beat Caroline Wozniacki in two sets, with 7-5 and 6-3, however, not without strong and fierce opposition from the Danish/Polish star.
The game took 93 minutes.
Kim, everyone in Flanders is very proud of you.

Strong Flemish game
Kim Clijsters is in the final of the US Open

Our country Kim Clijsters plays the final of the US Open tonight.
She will meet the 19 year old Danish Caroline Wozniacki, Kim managed to eliminate both of the Williams sisters in two consecutive games (first Venus and then Serena), something which is not obvious to anyone.
The game against Serena Williams, however, once again went not squeaky clean.
Serena Williams found it necessary again to show her darker side (as we are used to from her and her sister) by protesting to an umpire and by insulting and threatening her on top of that.
She had received a warning before after smashing her racket when she made a fault in her service, and at the second incident the referee thought it had been enough and he disqualified Serena Williams.
A pity we do not have an all Flemish final: In the other semifinal Yanina Wickmayer lost against Caroline Wozniacki, the latter proved to be quite a bit too strong for our country fellow.
A pity of course, but we have our Kim in the final, and, regardless of winning or losing, she has only been back on the tennis court a short while and immediately she makes it into the final. That in itself is a great achievement, I would think.
Of course we may be proud of our Kim, and we hereby wish her the very best for the final of the US Open.
Kim, we at Vlaanderen-Flanders, and I would think the whole of Flanders, keep our fingers crossed and wish you a glamorous win in the US Open.
Kim,thank you so much to put Flanders on the world map again.
We hope youcan see the day you are on the podium with a waving Flemish lion instead of that tricoloured rag and that they may play 'The Flemish Lion' at the ceremony instead of that Brabançonne.
Once again WELL DONE to our Kim Clijsters.

Some movement here too.
The Open VLD mayor of Lennik, Willy De Waele, asks prime minister Herman Van Rompuy in an open letter to let the Parliamentary handling of the split of Brussels-Halle-Vilvoorde take its course. "As the third conflict of interests finishes on October 20, 2009 this offers your office and your government an excellent opportunity to respect thenlaw and to let the Chamber take a vote", writes De Waele.
It has been about two years that the Chamber commission approved a proposition for the split of BHV, but due to the conflicts of interests the francophones called so far, the proposition has not been handled in the general meeting. After October 20, also the parliaments of the German speaking community and the Brussels Capital Region can call up a conflict which would delay the handling in in the general meeting another 240 days. According to De Waele the German speaking parliament are momentarily under immense pressure by the PS to effectively do so. (belga/jv)

What are we seeing now?
Has the whole of Flanders turned to the right now?
That is indeed the question we could ask. You might even begin to think there is an election coming up.
After all, now that the muslims begin to DEMAND more and more and some of them refuse to send their children to school if they cannot wear a head scarf, and while they want to found their own muslim schools of which the AEL (Arabisch Europese Liga, Arab European League) say it is only a matter of time, all politicians begin to take the stances of Vlaams Belang.
Some reactions by the parties:
CD&V
Ludwig Caluwé (CD&V) points out the importance of freedom of religion, but adds that that is not absolute. In case of problems it must be possible to take measures and that has now been done too, he claims. Separate muslim schools Caluwé would rather not see a start of. "That is not good for integration", he says.
Sp.a
Peter Vanvelthoven (sp.a) thinks it is important that everyone accepts the head scarf ban. "There would also have been protests in case of a different decision. But please, n separate schools now, as that goes exactly against the integration story", says the Flemish socialist.
Open Vld
Also Open Vld is not are not in favour of separate islam schools. "That will increase segregation and is not a good signal", says Sven Gatz. According to Gatz it will probably turn out to be a storm in a tea cup.
If even Sp.a are not taking a stance that goes against their favourite voters, where does that leave us?
Even N-VA, who always announced loudly they had no time for the 'racist' opinions of Vlaams Belang, appear to be just as 'racist now.
Bart De Wever thinks that muslim schools are not a good thing, and he even refers to the Dutch prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende, who described muslim schools as "prisons of lagging behind". Also Geert Bourgeois thinks the regularisation programme is a drama, and thinks it is a no end thing, he also thinks the francophones once again got what they wanted. Where was the vote against that by his party when they had the chance? No, they preferred to call Vlaams Belang racists and to vote against Vlaams Belang, while they have no choice than to agree with their opinions whole heartedly now.
Also minister of Education Pascal Smet (Sp.a) is not keen on the foundation of muslim schools.
Finally, Lijst Dedecker (LDD), thinks the city of Antwerp sets a great example by not giving in to the demands by muslims, and by maintaining the head scarf ban in the schools, Boudewijn Bouckaert even calls the head scarf a symbol of the suppresion of women.
According to the latest news, even Groen! (The Green Party) now express their reservations against the foundation of muslim schools.
All we do now is hope they stick by their decrees and do not give in to the muslim demands eventually again. |

Auditor Council of State advises lifting of head scarf ban
We just got this notice in, among other sources through Het Laatste Nieuws.
If that really happens, and that institution backs up the blackmail by the islam, then I would not be surprised if something happens.
Action could and should really be taken then.

Multiculture, Political Correctness and CGKR at their best.

In Antwerp, the atmosphere kept getting more tense, outside the schools there were not only protests by muslims, also threats (even death threats) were uttered, slogans such as "All Flemings out" were shouted, and there were also occurences of vandalism and burglary.
First question: where are CGKR because of the slogans? Is that not racist, especially aimed at the people who provide hospitality and security for them?
Police
The police were constantly keeping an eye out, even Flemish students of Actief Linkse Scholieren (Active left wing Students) helped distribute leaflets to support the protesters. The police arrested them all. (They cannot be that active in their studies, if that is what they occupy themselves with).
Must
Now there is also the fact that the Antwerp imam Nourdine Taouil (pictured) thinks that Education minister Pascal Smet (s.pa) MUST lift the head scarf ban. Since when have death threats and force been allowed in a democracy? Since when MUST we do things, and since when have these people the right to demand things?
More youngsters
And how well they integrate and how much we mean in our own country nowadays we see in Anderlecht, where a police patrol were attacked by "youngsters". The "youngsters" could also snatch a Kalasjnikov (machine gun) from the police. Also, later, in Anderlecht, the police found more concealed weapons.
CGKR
Where we DO hear CGKR (modern day Stasi, if you like), is to complain against a child minder, whose husband collects war material, and he has a VMO (Vlaamse Militanten Orde, Flemish Militant organisation) flag and a picture of Adolf Hitler in his house, as well as a whole collection of books and reference works about the war.
I was under the impression that people are entitled to whatever opinion in their own home, as long as the children the lady looks after are not confronted with or indoctrinated by the pictures and materials, what is the problem?
Of course there is no problem for people who walk around with a Che Guevara T-shirt, or people who have pictures of Stalin on their wall.
above all that, the information was obtained through a blatant breach of the privacy law by the red coloured VRT(the national television) who, under false pretnces, gained access to the lady's house with a hidden camera and took an interview from her without her knowledge, and then broadcasted the interview. All of a sudden Kind en Gezin (Child an Family, a body which registers child minders and babysitters and provides babysitting and child minding services), which had officially recognised her, but she did not work for them, that it would be necessary to try and revoke her licence. Don't they check out the people and their living quarters prior to registering them?
If I knew a child minder who had a picture of Stalin or Osama Bin laden in her living room, she would be entitled to that as far as I am concerned, I would not turn it into a drama, I just would not send my children there.
As simple as that.
Vlaams Belang gets it too
In Deurne the head quarters of Vlaams Belang was pelted with bottles and shot at during the night, resulting in damage to the glass windows.
There is CCTV footage available.
Probably an action for tolerance again. Now there is not a word from the CGKR(*), also the media remained suspiciously silent about the incident.
(*)CGKR=Centrum voor Gelijke Kansen en Racismebestrijding (Centre for Equal opportunities and against racism, who only work in one direction). |

In a nutshell
The updates stayed behind a bit, and also today I need to keep it a bit brief, simply due to the fact that my PC has broken down and I have to do everything from my laptop for the time being (I obviously have less possibilities than I have on my PC).
Hopefully all will be well again next week, but there is more than just the breakdown, a lot of data were also lost and will have to be retrieved, a job which could take some time.
Let's remember the past few days, when the lads of Clouseau (two brothers forming a pop duo) desperately want their barron's title, they brought out a number called "Leve België" (Long live Belgium). Geert Bourgeois (N-VA) had already expressed this did not really impress him, while Herman De Croo (Open Vld) once again saw an opportunity to sneer at Flemish nationalists, and almost openly referred to them as nazis by saying "Geert Bourgeois and his lot may know: their heavy boots are nothing but nostalgy", hello CGKR (Centre against racism, but we won't hear them now). Good thing is that Clouseau, together with Didier Reynders (MR), Laurette Onkelinckx (PS) and Joelle Milquet (CdH), on the Memorial Van Damme (an athletics event commemorating a great Flemish athlete) were booed en masse.
Let us also remember that in Antwerp, the embargo against Vlaams Belang wobbled over the referendum in the Lange Wapper case (about a new bridge that is, or is not to be built), what hypocrites, when it suits them, 'principles' temporarily do not matter anymore.
Also note that a whole bunch of asylum seekers were once again offered free top class hotel accomodation, who will keep paying for that?
Once again, the muslims are causing trouble outside the schools again against the head scarf ban, the Antwerp council wants to put a stop to such manifestations.
Further, Bart De Wever (N-VA) announced that "there is no longer going to be one single Flemish Euro for federal matters", while Guy Vanhengel (Open Vld), stated that "Belgium is virtually bankrupt", and finally, something which we look forward to every year: tomorrow De Gordel takes place again.
The problems around BHV will be specially emphasised, we are waiting now to see how bad the francophone provocations will be again.
In the mean time, I will also prepare the newsletter, thank you for your understanding. We are doing our best.
See you soon,
The webmaster.

Our education will have to pay the price now

"A major debate about education in Brussels will have to be started between the Flemish community, the Brussels region and the French community. The power of Dutch speaking education in Brussels has been surpassed", says Pascal Smet (Brussels regional minister, s.pa, pictured) in the Concentra-papers today.
According to him pupils are beginning to fall behind because of the vast numbers of children of non-Flemish background.
Of course, if all families only want to send their children to a Dutch speaking school because they heard somewhere that the education provided is better than anywhere else, and their first question is how they need to apply for a grant, and further than that they do not care one bit about the education of their children, or they do not any effort themselves to learn a little bit of Dutch in order to give their children some minimal support, you get situations like this.
Maybe another minister can say again our nursery children have to learn French, while Dutch speaking education in major cities is being treated like a Cinderella and the powers that be just watch it happen.
Another question that springs to mind is, whether it took Pascal Smet until now to notice this.
Oh yes, of course, Flanders is here for everyone, even if that means the destruction of our education. |

The Pilgrimage of the Yser...

To begin with: some 1,500 people present, what a contrast with years ago when tens of thousands of people were on the field, and with the Wake at the Yser, which managed to get a 5,000 strong audience.
Among the people present were politicians such as Flemish minister-president Kris Peeters (CD&V) and N-VA-minister Philippe Muyters. The president of the Committee Walter Baeten (Pictured on the right) pleaded for the abolishment of the federal elections. He also opposes cut backs in social expenditure.
In the past, we often heard strong language on the Pilgrimage, which was mostly forgotten over a pint after the ceremony.
it is true, however, as Baeten claims, that the government Van Rompuy is 'a danger to the state', and that, in a state like ours, the federal government might better become obsolete, but over the years, we have become used to hollow phrases from below the Yser Tower.
As mentioned before, the presence of Kris Peeters, was once again a show of hypocrisy, whose party has been helping in holding the Flemings hostage, just because of power and financial gain?
Then he even has the nerve to say on the VTM news he finds the things that were said somewhat tasteless. Then, why bother to turn up? Get some votes through sympathy maybe?
The motto of the Wake of the Yser, which took place last week, was also condemned, Baeten said that, under no circumstances, Flanders may let go of Brussels.
And then the chest swelled up again:
"It is true Flanders must get respect vor the financial support which comes from Flanders and for the Flemish character of the belt around brussels. If there is no respect, we turn off the money supply", said Baeten.
Really touching how macho he acted again.
And of course there had to be the usual political sneer: the motto of the Pilgrimage was "Flanders is for everyone", and once again one of the two most abused words was used appropriately and especially inappropriately: 'tolerance'.
They might have had a point to some extent, Flanders is for everyone, they give generously to all who come to the land of milk and honey, the Fleming goes on bearing the expense. And also read the articles below, how tolerant the Flemings ought to be, if not, their cities and cars get destructed.
And then he has the cheek to speak about the region around Brussels.
We have to be tolerant to the extent that we have to let ourselves be driven out of our own region, or else adapt to immigrants who speak a different language.
Top hypocrisy again.
Poor Flanders.

We have to bow again

Former Flemish Education minister Marleen Vanderpoorten (Open Vld, pictured on the right) suggests more French for Flemish children. "Let Flemish toddlers be introduced to it. And make French a compulsory subject in the whole primary education."
Some people might think this is not a bad idea as such, I would not call it a smart pedagogic move, while it is true that young children can normally learn a foreign language in a playful manner, it must be borne in mind that we are talking toddlers, or will the next step be trigonometry in nursery, followed by nuclear physics?
Furthermore there are enough children in the entire Flemish educational system who even have an insufficient grasp of Dutch, so why not start by teaching the children a proper and thoroughly mastered mother tongue (with 'mother tongue' we obviously refer to Dutch, this must be the day to day language of children living in Flanders, apart from what they speak at home).
a further point is, if the plan should have any chance to succeed, in principle they would need perfectly bilingual nursery teachers, do they think those grow on trees?
The most annoying factor about the plan is, in my opinion, that it only seems to be suggested for Flemish nurseries. What about a similar plan for Dutch Wallonia?
If you see that the knowledge of Dutch is very weak to non existent in the case of most of the members of the royal family and quite a few federal ministers, while learning Dutch is still not compulsory for our neighbours in the south (while learning French in school has been a must for us for decades, and once again, the opposite factor is being ignored), the question arises if they are not pushing us into the servant role again and trying to force us to adapt indefinitely, even in our own region.
It once again seems like Open Vld, in spite of the changed name, is still Pest Voor Vlaanderen (Pest For Flanders, the party used to be called PVV).

They are so good, Sir
While a number of newspapers try to ram down our throats that "youths are now better behaved than they were 40 years ago", "youngsters" have created a warm atmosphere again in Anderlecht and Molenbeek.
Once again, the dear innocents were not happy because the police stopped and checked a car, which they found did not comply to the regulations, while one of the passengers was in the possession of drugs and two of the three "youngsters" in the car were wanted by the police.
As is always the case, that was once again a reason for other "youngsters" to come to the aid of their peers. as is well known to us, this was done by means of rioting, throwing missiles at the police, vandalism and setting a car on fire.
Further, in Mechelen, a 71 year old lady was assaulted by a 21 year old "New Belgian" woman. this happened when the latter tried to board a bus without paying.
When the driver called her back and was ignored by her, the lady told her she was being called.
The lady was then assaulted and sustained minor injuries.
The following questions arise: why does the CGKR (Centrum voor Gelijke Kansen en Racismebestrijding, Centre hfor Equal Opportunities and Against Racism) completely silent while, if the shoe were on the other foot, their would be upheaval (e.g. such as the witch hunt against the firm Ferijns, which alledgedly does not employ enough immigrants), and where was the Liege police force which Freddy Thielemans likes to call in so much for reinforcement when there is an opportunity to beat the living daylight out of Flemings? Oh yes, it is obvious he must not offend his favourite voters.
High time justice and immigration were thoroughly restructured in this country. |

Opposition by Vlaams Belang and N-VA

Vlaams Belang adn N-VA do not want an independent Flanders would let go of Brussels. On the radical Flemish wake of the Yser in Steenstrate near Ieper guest speaker Frans Crols (Pictured on the right) pleaded for an independent Flanders, without Brussels if necessary.
Vlaams Belang does not agree and keeps seeing Brussels as "the bilingual capital of a future independent Flanders". President Bruno Valkeniers does hope the discussion about Brussels will be stimulated.
N-VA does not want Flanders to let go of Brussels neither, among other things because of the economic importance of the capital, as residence of a lot of companies and as residence of international institutions.
The theme of this wake, 'Prosperity and well being through independence', ran through the speeches by Wim de Wit, president of the non profit organisation. He appealed for a "divine peace" between all political parties to achieve Flemish independence quickly. De Wit even holds out his hand to the committee of the Pelgrimage of the Yser to work together. "Because our independence is as good as ready for the taking", continues De Wit.
Guest speaker Frans Crols got some of the participants against him when he said he did not see Brussels as capital of the new Flanders any longer. "We must let go of Brussels and thus remove a heavy bolt from the gate towards independence. Letting go of Brussels does not mean the end or the perishing of Flanders, quite the contrary".

Wake of the Yser: they seem to have had enough of Brussels

Just like last year, the Wake of the Yser in Steenstrate easily reached 5.000 participants. The theme, 'Prosperity and well being through independence' frequently appeared in the speeches by Wim De Wit, president of the non profit organisation, and guest speaker Frans Crols, president of the advisory committee of Trends magazine.
An independent Flanders is no longer necessary with Brussels as its capital, at least according to Crols. "We must let go of Brussels and thus remove a heavy bolt from the gate towards independence." It was a daring opinion on this wake which was not really appreciated by some of the people present. |

Not enough left to earn?
Mieke Vogels stops as president of Groen!

We thought it would never happen, but after the constant losses by her party (punished by the voters for the taxes they left us with
and for their extreme left principles), Mieke Vogels (Pictured) probably experiences there are hardly any further
positions and financial gain for her, so she decided to quit.
Vogels does, however, remain active as Flemish MP (of course) for the rest of this legislation, but she leaves the
president seat to others.
Now she suddenly claims to have seen that her party has no, or not enough ties with the voters. How long have the red-greens made spectacular losses now?
And only now Vogels notices that? Hence the simplest solution?
Well, Flanders will not be in mourning over it.. |

Another war
Imam versus Dewinter

Imam Nordin Taouil has complained fro slander against Vlaams Belang front man Filip
Dewinter (pictured) and Peter Velle, president of the Vlaams Comité voor Ex-moslims (Flemish Committee of former muslims, VCEM).
On the website of Dewinter we find a report by Velle in which he claims that the imam recruits muslim terrorists in
Antwerp, thus write a number of newspapers today. (belga/mvdb)

Possible paid holiday on July 11

It looks like the old demand to make July 11 an official paid holiday could become a reality. At
the beginning of the new political year, the re-enforced N-VA puts its July 11 demand on the table again.
The proposal by Ben Weyts (N-VA) gets support from a number of employers' organisations.
It concerns a consensus proposal, in which the number of official holidays increases from 10 to 11.
Because of this all employees would get a paid holiday on the feast of their community. The Flemings on july 11, the
Walloons on September 27 and the German community on November 15.
In all honesty we need to add, before N-VA takes all the credit, that Vlaams
Blok/Vlaams Belang has fought to get a paid holiday on July 11 for many years.

More about the royal yacht
Since sailing and navigating proves a bit too difficult for a humble king – even more difficult than learning Dutch –
Albert II also gets a captain of the Belgian Navy to accompany him on his pleasure trips, plus some military
staff too.

Good news for Marie-Rose Morel

Marie-Rose Morel (36, Vlaams Belang, pictured), heard earlier today that the glands, which were removed from her
groin last week, are free of cancer.
She thinks the people at the University Hospital Gasthuisberg in Leuven have performed a miracle and she has also thanked the doctors extensively.
However, it usually takes five years before someone with an illness of that extent is declared completely cured.
Nevertheless, we congratulate Marie-Rose with the good news and for her courage and determination. |

Against materialism

Albert II (And hopefully the last, pictured), who condemned the attitude of materialism in his 21st of July speech, has set an example again.
How hypocritical can he be?
After he bought a 15 meter (50 feet) long yacht in 2007 for 1,500,000 euro (£1,291,737, $2,130,394), he now bought a 27 meter (90 feet) one, with a price tag of 4.600.000 euro (£3,961,499, $6,532,907), in the middle of a crisis,
with our tax money, which we pay towards the working expenses of the monarchy.
Ben Weyts (N-VA) wants to pass a motion which would forbid such purchases with our tax money.
What about the people? They carried on paying.

Careful optimism
Nieuwe operatie Marie-Rose Morel goed verlopen

Marie-Rose Morel (36, Vlaams Belang, pictured) has had, as we published before, surgery on her groin.
The operation went well and the glands that worried the surgeons have been removed, as has the surrounding tissue.
Marie-Rose tells the newspapers she "will not know until next Thursday, when the glands have been analysed, if she
needs to worry about her chances of survival, or if she has been cured of her cancer of the womb".
She goes on putting a brave face, and still constantly appears to be the strong and brave woman, her optimism and courage are really admirable.
We keep hoping and wish her all the very best. |

Here we are again
Hello dear friends,
After a short period of absence we are back.
The reasons for the lack of updates can be read in the last edition of our newsletter (if you have not subscribed yet,
quickly do it now through the 'Newsletter' link in the menu on the left).
Unfortunately we have to start with some sad news:
Marie-Rose Morel (36, Vlaams Belang, pictured) has to have another operation for her fight against cancer.
Because of that, the waiting time to know whether there is still any hope of recovery will increase again.
Some lumps were found in her groin, which the surgeons will remove tomorrow. That means it will take another week before Marie-Rose will know
what her chances of survival are. The tough politician certainly keeps putting on a brave face.
Vlaanderen-Flanders wants to wish her the very best.
Another politician who has cancer is Herman Decroo (Open VLD). He has cancer of the throat and recently used very sharp words because the hospitals
do not provide radio therapy during weekends. Very odd that, for many politicians, ordinary people can suffer, but when they need something themselves
everyone has to be ready for them.
Obviously we do not wish such a fate on anyone, even though his party found it necessary to mock Marie-Rose and her illness
as 'election publicity'.
We also wish Herman Decroo a speedy and complete recovery.

Happy 11th of July
Vlaanderen-Flanders wants to wish everyone a happy, but especially alert Flemish holiday.
The way things are going now, I cannot immediately see things happening to our advantage.
It will be a matter of staying alert and of standing our ground where our rights and demands are concerned.
Later today, the newsletter will be sent out, and an update will appear on the site tomorrow, as there is a lot of news.
Have a great celebration today, but be ready to go on fighting for Flanders tomorrow.

Appeal to our visitors
Dear friends,
the webmaster needs your help.
For a long time I have been looking (without success) for the song 'Leopold II' by Jef Elbers.
If anyone has an mp3 file of the song (a video clip would be welcome too), would they please contact me?
It is also possible to send files through our comment form (left menu 'Your Comments') or it can also be done via simple E-mail.
If anyone could get me the song, film or both I would be very grateful.
Thank you in advance,
The webmaster. |

There is the reason
For the people who wonder where CD&V's good result in the elections came from: here is the answer.
They used a spy, whose mission was to influence the choice of the Flemings on election day.
On the picture below you can see they sent Jean-Luc Dehaene undercover to his native Bruges to do the job.

At the death of a politician
Heart failure on ladder fatal for Karel Van Miert (67)

Yesterday Karel Van Miert passed away during work in his garden.
He fell off his ladder, but it seemed he got heart failure before the fall.
Karel Van Miert was minister of State, former leader of the socialists and he was also a European Commissionerr between 1989 and 1999.
Even though he was a socialist, he often proved in the past to be a smart and sensible man, he had a Flemish reflex and he managed to (temporarily) reform socialism.
Someone's death always makes us stop and think, hence sincere condolences to the ones he leaves behind from Vlaanderen-Flanders. |

International protest by the webmaster

After what happened to Kimberley Vlaminck in Kortrijk, the tattoo disaster which made it into the world press,
I protested to some foreign media channels.
The protest was sent to Yahoo News, The Sydney Herald (Australia) and Metro UK (The free paper which is distributed on the
London Underground).
What was the protest about?
The reason was that in some articles, there was a constant mention about the incident in Courtrai, Belgium.
While some English language newspapers were correct, and did write Kortrijk, I think it is very inappropriate that
a number of foreign newspapers always write Flemish place names in French in their articles.
Hence the following message:
Hello,
having read the article on the tattoo incident in Flanders, I must say I feel very offended by the way things are presented.
Why is it that the foreign press always has to write place names from Flanders in their French equivalent?
The incident took place in the Flemish Town of Kortrijk, yet I find 'Courtrai' (which is French) written in the article.
I think it is high time the foreign press realised the majority of people in Belgium are Dutch speakers (6 million, opposed
to 3.5 million French speakers), and that they stopped referring to the entire country of Belgium as being a French speaking
country, and stopped writing Flemish place names with no English equivalent in French (eg. Leuven, not Louvain, Ieper, not
Ypres, Kortrijk, not Courtrai etc.).
I would expect of professional journalists to be at least properly informed.
May I hope this reaction will be borne in mind?
Thank you in advance,
Frankie,
A Fleming living in the UK.
|
The Australian The Sidney Herald sent me the following polite reply the next day:
Dear Frankie,
Recently you contacted ReaderLink. The following outlines The Herald's response:
Thank you for your email, the story Belgian Tattoo Disaster was provided by the wire service Agence France Presse, we recommend you raise your concerns with them.
Your interest in Herald Publications is appreciated and has provided us with valuable feedback.
Please quote 00142996 if you wish to contact ReaderLink again.

Also Metro UK acknowledged receipt, and my reaction was published in the June 19 issue.
Not a word from Yahoo News, however.
It might be crucial to have more similar actions.

We know a bit more now
Peeters continues with CD&V, N-VA and sp.a

The die has now been cast: Open VLD misses government participation.
Kris Peeters (CD&V, pictured) wants a government with CD&V, N-VA and sp,a.
Flanders may have voted so-called 'right wing', we shall still have a government that really leans towards the centre
left. Now we wait curiously to se how 'Flemish' the 'fat fish' and his clicque will profile themselves now there are seats to be gained.
Incidently, it is a fact that N-VA prefer to govern with the left rather than to join forces with
Flemish nationalists. The things Geert Bourgeois (N-VA, seems to do his name justice) said, that 'Vlaams Belang has no right to speak'
and what 'Baron to be Bart De Wever' said about 'the marginality of Vlaams Belang' prove that, but De Wever is the first
to start crying in the press 'Boohoohoohoohoo, the Open VLD attacked us every day'.
A short while of credit
It is understandable that Open VLD are out, after all, there were serious electoral losses, but, looking at their track record
shows they have hardly achieved anything.
Let's check now how well N-VA will do, that CD&V is belgicist (except near election time)
we have known for ages, but I am curious where the 'fat fish' of state reform and BHV will be. Let us see if they will ever get
on the table. (I do realise the election was for the Flemish government, not the federal one, but
negotiations of this nature should start at regional level.).
Time will show whether N-VA will follow the same road as their predecessor, the Volksunie, and whether Bart will turn out to be a second
Bert Anciaux.
No wonder Bart De Wever has the ambition to become mayor of Antwerp if it came that far, something he strongly denied
after it made the press, but we all know what it means when politicians start denying things, especially when it concerns positions and power,
and even more if they were groomed by Christian Democrats.
For the time being they get the benefit of the doubt, although....

Some people still want to fight
Voorpost does action at KVS
Activists of the Flemish-nationalist group Voorpost did an action today at the Koninklijke Vlaamse
Schouwburg (KVS, Royal Flemish Theatre) in Brussels, because, according to the organisation, the theatre has
deliberately been violating the linguistic laws for years. Some militants climbed the balcony at the theatre
and others distributed leaflets. Thus says Voorpost and this is confirmed by the KVS.
It is about the fact the KVS "refuses to have unilingual Dutch programme newspapers printed and distributed
in Flanders". During the KVS-activity 'Bruxxeldelux' (Beautiful Dutch, by the way) some of the militants therefore
climbed the balcony at the theatre and they opened a banner saying 'KVS, pas de taalwet toe!' (KVS, apply the linguistic law!).
Others gave out leaflets to passers by.

Here we are again
Flemish (and other) friends,
after a brief abcense (lots of work outside the web space) I can spill out my thoughts again.
Maybe it was a good idea to wait for the evolution of the political life after the elections.
I assume the election resultats will be well known enough to everyone. The result, however, raises the question: "Are the Flemings
really idiots, who want to go on being cheated, or what?", what on earth came over them to crown a party, which has been
turning like the wind for years, time and again makes big promises, only to break them afterwards, and which is belgicist on top of that,
as winners?
A brief analysis
Further we see the defeat of Open VLD (in this case to be expected after all their incompetence), Vlaams Belang (remain
the second party in Flanders, nevertheless, also, the voters kept voting for the right, but this time three parties are fishing
in the right wing pond, apart from VB there are also N-VA and LDD, in that respect the embargo has truly
borne fruit this time and made many VB voters (for now anyway) give their vote to N-VA).
LDD is disappointed in a way too, in spite of the progress, the aspired 10% was not reached.
That also the socialists were going to lose seats was to be expected, but they managed to limit the damages to some extent.
Winners and losers, any difference?
Now that Kris Peeters (CD&V) can succeed himself as minister-president of the Flemish government (what other ambitions did he have anyway?)
he has already made up an account of what could happen:
One possibility is a monster coalition CD&V, N-VA, Open VLD and SP,a, or the previous without N-VA (classic tripartite), or else
CD&V, N-VA and Open VLD or CD&V, N-VA and SP,a.
In other words, everything stays as it was, except for (maybe) adding N-VA, although until recently they were part of the circus due to their
cartel with CD&V.
Jean-Marie Dedecker (LDD) already proclaimed he wishes N-VA would take part, and N-VA-president Bart De Wever
has also expressed the desire to help govern the country. (Read the article of June 1 again, and once again you will se that man's
hard language, just like during the BHV matter, as you remember, about "not being part of a government before...",
well, where are the demands about BHV, and after his recent quotes, he is dribbling very strongly now).
N-VA seems to be the perfect successor for their party of origin (the Volksunie), remember the Egmont Treaty (1978, see menu item "Flanders". I am, however,
willing to give them some credit so i can see how they will try to implement their 'Flemish-nationalist principles'
(I do say 'try', as if they do, they have to go against strong winds, I am really curious how much they
will bend because of those winds.
Also after the elections they still speak a bit of hard language, they want the Parliamentary oath to be adjusted so
the words of swearing loyalty to the king are to be removed. (Something Vlaams Belang (
still called Vlaams Blok then) suggested, but it was laughed away and deemed to be 'fascist').
If they do get in I can just see them standing in front of the man in Laken, hand in the air and speaking exactly those words.
Regarding Open VLD, well, having lost they even make demands (that is showing a lot of nerve, they had better been that tough in Parliament against the francophones),
and in the mean time, the (never elected) prime minister Herman Van Rompuy (CD&V) announced to Kris Peeters
he insists to include Open VLD in the Flemish government, as otherwise their participation in the federal government could become questioned. (
He must be very concerned about losing his handsomely paid position).
It is true that Kris Peeters invited all parties (including Vlaams Belang) for an informal talk this time,
Vlaams Belang-president Bruno Valkeniers even said to have had a "useful and pleasant" talk with the minister-president,
however, the invitation will not have been much more than a smoke screen to show Peeters' so called 'tolerance'.
The prime minister has also proudly announced that by 2010 he wants to settle BHV
(what a beautiful choice of words, do they mean 'condemn to the waste basket', 'block', 'leave matters as they are'?), he is careful
enough never to use the word 'split'.
Finally
It looks like, in spite of the elections, everything will stay as it was and that will seem to be the big winners (except for one
loser, but we are used to that).
Besides, judging by many readers' reactions in newspaper articles it looks like many voters already regret their choice.
I must, however, agree with the opinion of others, who write: "do not complain now, you had a chance to make changes,
but you had to help the worst traitors back to power".
Let us just wait and see, but I really fear that, once again, I will have to write
"Poor Flanders".

Not one bit surprised
Court cases Vlaams Belang regarding posters have been lost

What was expected has of course happened:
The three court cases, which Vlaams Belang had against the towns of Brussels, Sint-Gillis and
Sint-Pieters-Woluwe, have been lost in front of a Brussels judge. This happened with the same motivation
the judge used to reject the previous court case against the town of Etterbeek.
It is very strange that similar complaints by francophones (in Flanders of all places), are always
won.
Needless to spend any more words on this.
We'll speak again tomorrow.

Shampoo with eggs
Thiéry (UF) gets an egg on his head by VB-militants

Oh, horror, what a horrific murder attempt took place in the Brussels periphery yesterday.
Definitely front page news (especially when the elections are here), and of course, NOT TO BE FORGTOTTEN, mention the name of Vlaams Belang
we are talking about negative news here.
This is what happened:
In Halle, some ten militants of Vlaams Belang and Voorpost have tried to prevent Damien Thiéry (UF) and a
bailiff to confirm the absence of billboards. Thiéry, protected by
a group of policemen, got some eggs thrown at him during that time. The bailiff could finally
note his conclusions under police protection.
The militants shouted slogans like "cyaankali voor het FDF" (cyanide for FDF) and "Waalse ratten, rol uw matten" (Walloon
rats, get lost).
"This is what democracy in Belgium stands for, this is no longer acceptable. The removal of the billboards is illegal.
I shall take this to court in Brussels", said a very upset Thiéry.
(Of course the media will show him as the big martyr now).
It would be appropriate if Mr. Thiéry would take a dictionary (even if it is a French one)
and look up the meaning of the word 'democracy'. While he is at it he mioght as well look up 'respect' and
'adapt' or 'adaptation'.
Apart from putting the man forward as a martyr, it is typical for the Flemish media again (right before the elections)
they clearly saw (this sentence is of course meant to be sarcastic) that the egg was thrown by Vlaams Belang militants.
However, it is nowhere to be found we are looking at Flemings who stand up for democracy in their own region, respect for their identity, culture and language.
Poor Flanders.

That is how it should be
Vlaams Belang acts against Antwerp mosque

Vlaams Belang acted this morning against the building of a mosque moskee on the Sint-Bernardsesteenweg in
Antwerp. It would, according to the party, become the biggest mosque in Flanders, with a surface of 4000 square meters
and there is also a koran school and an imam training centre connected to it.
Symbol
VB handed out 50.000 leaflets against the mosque in the past few days, the mosque will become a symbol of the islamisation
of Antwerp and Flanders according to them.
Cuckoo
According to VB-front man Filip Dewinter the Jisr Al Amana-mosque is anything but a good idea. " The islam is like a
cuckoo which lays its eggs in our European nest. We hatch them and we will eventually be rejcted ourselves", he declared.
The partij walked over a local market with three women dressed in a burca wiht the slogan "the islam may damage your
freedom!". The controversial mosque would just under 4 million euro. (belga/edp)

Always double standards
Various titles possible

After Vlaams Belang lost a court case against the town of Etterbeek and the judge also deemed the
argument that the agreement goes against the anti discrimination law as wrong, another judge
backed up the Union des Francophones (UF) on the grounds of the same argument in their complaint against the town of Halle.
Still, the town Oudergem lost against Vlaams Belang and verdicts against Brussels, Sint-Gillis
and St-Pieters-Woluwe are expected soon. On the hearings Brussels and Sint-Gillis did not turn up.
Halle
In the mean time the mayor of Halle, Dirk Pieters (CD&V) has been a credit to his name of Christian democrat.
First there was the bold language and the decision to deny the francophones the use of the billboards, then he,
like a real Christian democrat should do, gave in to the francophones regarding the use of the billboards, and now,
he will finally have the boards removed altogether.
"Because of the announcement by francophones they will come to Halle in great numbers, I expect riots between
Flemings and Walloons, hence the safety is at risk", he says.
I would rather be inclined to call it cowardice and to put a few things down to the fact that the elections are
round the corner.
Real Christian democrat tricks again, and once again the francophones win, while, based upon identical
arguments, the Flemings lose their case.
We also await a verdict in a complaint by the same UF against the Flemish mayors who refuse to
organise the (illegal) European elections. |

Ethnic cleansing?
Deputy Prime Minister Reynders: "Too many Flemings in Brussels parliament"

The Flemish side reacts with rejection to what MR-Deputy Prime Minister Didier Reynders (pictured) said, ie.
the Flemings are over represented in the Brussels parliament. According to N-VA his words show an "unlikely
arrogance", while Flemish minister Frank Vandenbroucke, authorised for running the periphery, warns that
the Flemish representation cannot be touched. The Brussels Open Vld-list leaders Guy Vanhengel and Sven Gatz
are disappointed by Reynders' sneer.
Following Maingain
Last weekend Olivier Maingain (FDF) had already spoken similar words about the composition of the
Brussels parliament, the representative of his cartel partner follows his sayings.
Reynders also wants a 'serene' debate, but he does refer to the extension of Brussels and the nomination of the three
'mayors' again.
Further, according to the president of the Francophone liberals, also the representation of the Flemings in the
Brussels parliament should be questioned. The Brussels parliament has 89 members, seventeen of whom are Flemings.
Reynders remarked there are momentarily maximum fifteen per cent Flemings in Brussels.
N-VA: "Unlikely arrogance"
N-VA are opening their mouths too (elections on Sunday), they think the words show "unlikely arrogance",
especially at the time the Francophones have more excellencies in the federal government than the Flemings and that the
Flemish majority parties do not even have a majority in parliament.
They even sneer at their former lover, the CD&V (would the VLD be luring after all?): "Is that the state reform Kris Peeters
wants to achieve with his so called dialogue?", asks party president Bart De Wever. He also calls it "electoral cheating of the worst kind",
have they not been in a cartel with CD&V and made and broken the same promises?
Another reaction
"Witg such aggressive statements we will not put a single step forward regarding a state reform", reacts
Flemish minister Frank Vandenbroucke (sp.a). "The boundaries of Brussels and the representation of the Flemings in
Brussels are things we will not let anyone touch".
"FDF becomes a handicap"
Guy Vanhengel and Sven Gatz, the Brussels Open Vld-list leaders, react wuth disappointment to Didier Reynders' statement.
In a collective press release they say that "the FDF becomes more and more what NVA was for the CD&V: a handicap".
The two politicians also call Reynders' sneer odd, as he was sitting at the same table when the representation of the
Flemings in Brussels was negotiated in 2001. |

Well done Ternat.
Ternat returns Francophone leaflets by UF to sender
The council of Ternat (A Flemish town near Brussels) calls its inhabitants to return Francophone election leaflets, which the Union des
Francophones (UF, Union of Francophones) distributed in the letterboxes today, to the Town Hall. From the Town Hall,
the whole batch will be sent back to FDF-president Olivier Maingain, who is mentioned on the leaflets as
responsible editor. According to Ternat, Maingain will incur the cost of the returns.
In a release, Ternat accuses the fact that the leaflet, which consists of 4 pages, and is headed 'Le 7 juin faites
respecter vos droits en péripherie bruxelloise' (On June 7, have your rights respected in the Brussels periphery),
has been written entirely in French, bar one short sentence in Dutch, English and German. Earlier, the town had
announced their inhabitants could bring any election propaganda, written in french, back to the Town Hall. (belga/eb)

The tolerant, correct VLD.
Open VLD'er mocks ill Morel on Facebook

"Those Vlaams Belangers have made a beautiful poster with a cute golden retriever, as blond as Marie-Rose
Morel (when she still had hair)", writes Open VLD-member Ann Brusseel on Facebook. Morel (Vlaams Belang, pictured above) reacts
that this quote does not show a lot of class.
The poster in question you can see on the right. That liberaal woman is also very smart, she does not even see
the dog on the poster is not a golden retriever at all, but let us not fall over that.
She continues as follows:
Came across wrong
Ann Brusseel claims the message came across wrong. "Only later I realised the joke about Morel was not
funny. I am not glad she is ill, but I do not regret having been so hard on Vlaams Belang. After all,
the party is hard on society too." Yet Brusseel does not intend to apologise. "I do not know Marie-Rose personally.
What I do regret, is that because of my mistake, Vlaams Belang can play the victim again."
Reason
The reason for the whole occurence seemed to be the fact that Erland Pison (Vlaams Belang, poster on the right) had sent a friend request
to Ann Brusseel's Facebook page(that is what Facebook is for, and a friend request can be accepted or
simply be refused.
I will now show what Erland Pison wrote (Source: Blog Erland Pison http://www.erlandpison.be) (Dutch only):

PRESS RELEASE:
Ann Brusseel (VLD): "as blond as Marie-Rose Morel (when she still had hair)"
Ann Brusseel says Erland Pison is a "disturbed Übermensch" and also mentions "the narrow minded Flemish voters". Also Marie-Rose Morel, who is fighting a brave battle against cancer, gets a poisonous remark. "But how do those decent VBers, who made a nice poster with a cute golden retriever, as blond as Marie-Rose Morel (when she still had hair) do it?"
Reason is a friend request by Brussels MP Erland Pison (5th candidate for Vlaams Belang). The request clearly upset Open VLD-candidate Ann Brusseel. Yet the same Ann Brusseel writes the following readers letter in De Morgen, 20th of April 2009:
"The blame that politicians abuse Facebook to bring their message across to the voters as much as possible, is a bit too sour and populist to my liking... Look at it from the positive side: it saves lots of printing, hence environment friendly, and it allows candidates to know the questions, concerns and points of view of the voters better. Everyone benefits from that."
Even more important than her inappropriate words is the conclusion that Mrs. Brusseel makes Vlaams Belang a stake for these elections. On her Facebook page she makes it he top priority to "eliminate Vlaams Belang" in the next elections.
The top priority of Pison certainly is the interests of thee Brusselers and the problems they are facing. Pison publicly challenges Mrs. Brusseel to a debate. Democracy lives through debate. It would stun everyone if Mrs. Brusseel, being a liberal politician would not dare accept this invitation.
In the mean time Mrs. Brusseel removed the poison from her Facebook page. For the integral version of the slagging off, see this! (Dutch only, translation upon request).
A dirty slanging match, in which not only a seriously ill person is mocked, but in which people are also called fascists and
more of those nice names.
The best one is, I have not seen anything about this on any TV news, I also wonder where the calling to order of the politician by her party is,
or even simply a statement in which Open VLD distances itself from such quotes?
They will probably desperately need N-VA (and possibly more parties) if they want to make the electoral minimum.
On Facebook there is also a possibility to join a protest group. (I have already joined it, of course).

01/06/2009
Yawn... they are repeating themselves.
Flemish child allowance crucial point for N-VA

N-VA is not joining the next Flemish government if they do not work on an additional Flemish child benefit,
says president Bart De Wever.
I will not spend lots of words on this, otherwise I would be repeating myself too. We heard exactly the same
words around the previous elections, only, then it was "as long as BHV has not been split". I don't think there is any need to go into more detail,
everyone probably remembers the result.
Incidently, in their list of demands they refer to the state reform very weakly a few times, but no longer a word
about BHV.
It also strikes (see picture) they dare not wave a Flemish lion anymore (maybe De Gught has forbidden it), look at their sunflowers, and,
believe it or not, there is even a hint of a smile on De Wever's face. Would Karelt "dung bug" De Gught
already have revealed which positions he will give him should they make a cartel?
By the way, there is more about the "democratic" Open VLD on this page. |

A bit late
N-VA wants Flemish energy firm in order to break French monopoly

The N-VA pleads for the construction of a Flemish energy firm in order to break the French monopoly in the Belgian
energy sector. Since 90 per cent of the Belgian energy market is in French hands, the
energy charges in our country are among the highest in Europe, the party claims.
Milk cow
The party also thinks the French se our energy market as a milk cow, while in France the energy charges are 40%
lower than in our country.
A little thought:
Good of N-VA to launch this proposal, BUT, since 2004 they had, together with CD&V, the trust of the voters. While,
under your noses, Flanders became a bread winner for the French you stood there, watching powerlessly and doing nothing. Propositions
to strengthen Flemish economy, launched by Vlaams Belang fell on a deaf man's ears with you. Now you ask
for our trust again so you can "stick up for us". And who will you do that with? CD&V again? We already know the result:

A bit of a nerve
About 1 in 5 muslims in Belgium feel discriminated

Election time is coming, and the lefties, fearing a real hammering, have ordered some studies
again.
The best one I read today was "Young muslims only have little faith in police".
In that case, have a look at the previous articles.
To the point now:
Twenty to thirty per cent of the Belgian muslims felt victims of discrimination in the past year. For
muslims of North-African origin that is 33 per cent, for Turkish muslims it is 20 per cent. The
European average is around 33 per cent. This shows up in the second EU-MIDIS-report of the Office of the European Union
of Fundamental Rights (FRA), a division of the European Union which was founded in March 2007 to support the member states
and European institutions regarding fundamental rights.
The muslims also think "Discrimination is huge in the job market", not difficult to understand if you don't know nor wish to learn the language of your host country.
"Discrimination based on religion" is another one they love to use.
Odd, they come to their host country and demand that Christmas trees and Easter eggs are abolished, the word "Christmas" is not even
to be used again as it offends them, probably because we discriminate.
They also claim there is "No trust in institutions against tegen racism". Well, Jozef De Witte will love to hear that.
He already love witch hunts against his own people in order to get as many convictions for "racism" as possible, maybe
he will intensify those witch hunts now.
"No faith in the police" was mentioned earlier, as I said before, read the previous articles.
It looks like we did something right, as they say "The head scarf has no influence" on discrimination.
Also weird, as today I read that CdH (the francophone Christian (a muslim in a Christian party???)
democrats have a bit of an uproaa because they had hidden a muslim candidate's head scarf on the election picture.
They are even so discriminated that they get a swimming pool all to themselves so they can go swimming in burkini, only among muslims.
I would conclude: "1 muslim in 5 feels discriminated, well, 4 Flemings in 5 ARE discriminated".
Maybe this is another thing to bear in mind on June 7.

More and more a paradise for criminals
Defendant walks free because previous punishment was not executed

The Antwerp judge Walter De Smedt has acquitted a man for theft of a GPS system today.
Not because there was any doubt about his guilt, but because he had not spent a day of a previous jail sentence inside.
"The exemption of punishment following the not spending a conviction can not do anything
but to urge persistent offenders to carry on their criminal activities. In this sense a proper sentence is pointless", he said
in his remarkable decision.
The culprit, clearly a persistent offender, oh yes, called Saïd Laoukili (am I a racist now?), was even caught red handed by the police.
No wonder groups like "Genoeg is genoeg" (see previous articles) are being made. I have certainly
signed up.

There go P(est) V(oor) V(laanderen) again (*)
De Padt: "Francophones in periphery can vote with illegal polling card"

Francophones from the Flemish border towns who present themselves at the polling station with an illegal polling
card (in French) on June 7 will still be allowed to vote.
If they fulfil all conditions and they can show their identification documents,
they do not lose the right to vote. This was an answer by home minister
Guido De Padt (Open VLD, pictured) in the relevant Chamber commission to questions about the
polling card saga in four facility towns.
He said this in an answer to questions by Ben Weyts (N-VA), Michel Doomst (CD&V), Bart Laeremans (Vlaams Belang) en
Olivier Maingain (FDF).
The latter was obviously pleased with the minister's answer. He made it known he was advising Francophones to go
voting with their French polling card.
(*)The old name of Open VLD was PVV, which the Flemings alliterated as Pest Voor Vlaanderen (Pest for Flanders). |

Time for action!!!
In the mean time the opinions are being brainwashed again to get milder by posting about "new elements in the investigation"
which now appear in the press in the correct (left wing) semantics.
However, me, and many others, have no intention of getting milder, we have done that too much and too long.
There are still people who mean well and who even plan action against the pampering of criminal 'YOUNGSTERS'.
Go to Facebook on http://www.facebook.com and do a search for
'Genoeg is genoeg' (Enough is enough, Dutch only). Sign up to the group and see which actions they are planning.
TAKE PART NOW, INDEED, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!! |
26/05/2009
Flemings, use your common sense!!!
Dear visitor,
I feel far too much disgust and anger to do lots of updates today.
After reading the reports about the 64 year old innocent lady who was mugged and kicked and hit by 'YOUNGSTERS'
in Geraardsbergen and who has now been declared brain dead, and then having to read the 'YOUNGSTERS'
were released immediately, the following thoufghts keep going through my head:
- Many thanks to the traditional parties, CD&V/N-VA and sp.a in first place
- Are there going to be any concerts now?
- Now, they quickly let the Turkish Miss Belgium (who hardly speaks any Dutch) organise meals between natives and immigrants.
- Stefaan De Clerck now wants to reduce the judiciary administrative regions (keep positions in the family) and then carry on doing nothing
- Why don't the 'politically correct' quickly try to talk guilt complexxes into the Flemings' heads again?
I do not care one bit now if my website gets branded a racist or politically biased site,
or whether it is pushed into the corner of political preference, but now I appeal to the Flemings to put a stop to those things once and for all
on June 7.
IT HAS BEEN ENOUGH NOW !!!!!!
On June 7, show clearly this cannot go any further, the lack of punishment, pampering, corruption within the judiciary system, the Walloon
control over our justice system....
Massively punish the traditional parties (and count N-VA among those, how much chaos have they helped to create in their cartel with CD&V?).
Give your vote to parties who have brought accusations against those things for years, they will not be able to keep silencing those parties.
Give a strong and clear signal Flanders has had enough of all that incompetence!!
Show them we want to live in an independent Flanders where life is good for the Flemings, with proper punishing of crime, and in an independent Flanders where our own people
rule. |
25/05/2009
This is our country indeed.
Vlaams Belang wants to turn June 7 into a black and yellow Sunday

(On the sign, it says "This is OUR country").
"June 7 will not be a 'black Sunday'. It will be a black and yellow Sunday, without any red frills". Thus concluded Vlaams
Belangpresident Bruno Valkeniers the election congress 'This is OUR country' in Antwerp. The party wants to profile itself
as the party of the ordinary man in the last fortnight of the campaign, a party which wants to stop the islamisation of Europe and which goes for
political credibility.
Destructive balance
Filip Dewinter (pictured) described a destructive balance of the past Flemish legislature and the five years of CD&V/N-VA-Open
Vld-sp.a reign: No state reform and no split of BHV; incredibly long waiting lists in the care for the disabled and the
elderly and the social housing, increasing unemployment, ... "What we need is a Flemish social security,
our own Flemish employment control, our own Flemish fiscality. Only the can we take on the economic crisis
and fight unemployment. Belgium is the past; Flanders the future", said the head of the Antwerp list.
Flemish independence
To him, the biggest political victory of Vlaams Belang is that, when the party was founded, hardly 4 to 5
per cent opted for Flemish independence and now half of the people want this. He also talked sharply about foreign minister
De Gucht, who wants to bring prisoners of Guantanamo to Belgium at a time 500 Belgian
prisoners have to be transported to the Netherlands due to lack of space.
Immigration flow
Dewinter did not think it was normal that "while we ask the Flemings to tighten their belts we give 42.000 non-European
foreigners 365 million euro (£321,418,629, $511,479,468) worth of unemployment benefits". That is why the immigration flow has to stop for Dewinter.
European list leader Frank Vanhecke repeated the resistance of the party against Turkey joining the EU and sharply
condemned a recent decision of the European parliament to agree to the coming of 60 million non-European
immigrants to Europe. (belga/gb)

One rule for one...
Trouble in Etterbeek
In Etterbeek, Vlaams Belang have sued the council because of the dishonest division
of poster space on the billboards.
The lawsuit comes from Dominiek Lootens-Stael, who holds a Vlaams Belang seat in the Brussels Parliament.
The francophone political parties MR, PS and cdH are given a lot more space than Vlaams Belang, while that
party is the largest Flemish party in Brussels. The lawsuit will be introduced before the Brussels
judge on Wednesday, thus heard press agency Belga of lawyer Bart Siffert who will act on behalf of VB.
Bailiff
In the mean time, the VB-MP has sent a bailiff round and he made a report. The report has been passed on to the
council of Etterbeek with the request to justify the situation within 48 hours.
In the mean time, that did not happen, hence the lawsuit. Vlaams Belang now demands the council would be sentenced to pay
5,000 Euro (£4,403, $7,006) a day until the situation has been put straight.
The party notices that also in other towns, such as Sint-Pieters-Woluwe, they are treated in the same way
and they consider to start procedures against those other towns too.
Mayor
In the mean time Vincent De Wolf (MR, pictured), mayor of Etterbeek, has made it known he sticks up for the decision
the council made.
"We have unanimously approved a rule which says council staff will paste on the election posters on
the council billboards, based upon the weight of every party in the regional parliament", thus said the
mayor.
It is odd they can always approve rules to hold back Vlaams Belang, while there is never a problem if francophones
blatantly violate the laws in some Flemish towns.

A new bed?
De Gucht would rather go into coalition with N-VA than with sp.a

(The writing on the picture says: "I will never go round the table with Dedecker. The LDD is not a serious party. They
are a collection of politically shipwrecked people).
Deputy PM Karel De Gucht (Open Vld, pictured) prefers a coalition with N-VA above one with sp.a. "Wherever I go I hear that the next
Flemish government will be a classical three party one. Well, I am not convinced that will be the case. Who says
there are no possible combinations without the sp.a? Economically I am much closer to the N-VA than to the sp.a", concludes De
Gucht. (Does he mean that, should he help the N-VA into the government, they would not give any opposition
against the 'economy' from north to south?).
LDD
De Gucht adamantly refuses to talk with Lijst Dedecker (LDD). He claims never to go round the table with that collection of 'politically
shipwrecked people' (He might have a point about the 'shipwrecked people'). And he goes on dribbling:
"Look, I often disagree with the N-VA, but to me, they are a serious party." Says the man who
called roughly a million Flemish nationalists "dung bugs", and the man belonging to a party where a leading politician
referred to Flemish nationalists as "mentally handicapped". Anyway, the N-VA have already proven their "Flemish nationalism"
when they collaborated with the belgicist CD&V.
Deals?
It really look slike De Gucht already wants to divide the seats (ie. positions) before people have even voted.
Would there already be secret deals in place for a new cartel which would assure a small party of participation in a government?
Has De Gucht let the cat out of the bag? Not impossible, besides, there are some former VU'ers(*) in the liberal party.
Would the N-VA finally have found a new bed to jump into with a new lover?
(*)VU'ers= people belonging to the party VU (Volksunie, People's Union), a former Flemish Nationalist Party who
later betrayed their principles, and which fell apart into Vlaams Belang, N-VA and other parties, while some members just
walked into existing parties.

Another (expensive) circus
'Mixed' couples say their vows on Grote Markt

Today, some 160 couples symbolically renewed their vows on the Brussels Grote Markt (Main Square).
They were 'mixed' couples, of mixed language groups or origin. The whole circus was set up by 'Red de
Solidariteit' (Save the solidarity) to stress the solidarity between the communities in our country. A shameless
belgicist trick again.
Freddy Thielemans
The mayor of Brussels, Freddy Thielemans received the couples in the town hall first, then they went to the Grote Markt
for some more expensive show (very loyal, don't you think, throwing our money away) with among others Yves Barbieux
of the group Urban Trad, Jo Lemaire and Kris De Bruyne.
Shoelace
The couples received a souvenir of the mayor, a work by the artist Lebuin Dhaese, on which Belgium is depicted
and the linguistic border is held together by a shoelace. (There is indeed not much more left to hold this country together).
"Signal to the politicians"
Also the trade unions ABVV and ACV supported that circus (why are we not surprised?). Federal ACV-secretary Guy
Tordeur of the administitrative region Brussel-Halle-Vilvoorde (there of all places) commented as follows: "We
appeal for keeping an efficient and loyal social security in Belgium" (Only if Flanders keeps coughing up?), while
BBTK-secretary Hendrik Vermeersch added: "The participants have sent a strong signal to the country, but especially
to the politicians" (Which politicians does he mean?).
N-VA-youth
Since there are elections round the corner, the N-VA youth had to do a weak
'action'. They gave out leaflets in which they congratulated the couples, but they added the
solidarity has to show itself as a mutual respect of persons and peoples, according to them. "One can not talk about
solidarity when a population refuses to another population to take their future into their own hands", they continued.
Once again a 'meat nor (fat) fish' reaction, which still shows where they were trained politically (remember their old cartel),
or are they being careful in order to leave doors open to be part of the new government at the side of the VLD?

And we carry on
"Polling forms must be up to scratch tomorrow"
If the polling forms in the three facility communities Kraainem, Linkebeek and Wezembeek-Oppem have not been sent
according to the rules tomorrow, the province governor of Flemishs-Brabant will make sure it
happens. Thus say home minister Guido De Padt (Open Vld) and Flemish minister of internal affairs
Marino Keulen (Open Vld).
The forms which were ordered by Olivier Maingain were deemed illegal and completely worthless by constitutional specialist
Pol Van Orshoven. |

The lion bites and strikes with its claws
Flemish militants prevent francophones from bill posting in Halle

Candidates and militants of the Francophone list "Union des Francophones" (UF) have today tried (in vain) to bill post
in the Flemish-Brabant town of Halle. This town only makes billboards available
for Dutch propaganda. Some tens of Flemish nationalist militants made sure the posters
could not be pasted on the billboards.
"Desinfect of Walloon flu"
Flemish nationalists, among who were militants of TaalAktieKomitee (TAK), Voorpost and Vlaams Belang,
prevented the bill posting teams, among who were the non appointed mayors of Linkebeek Damien Thiéry and the
francophone sheriff of Sint-Genesius-Rode Eric Libert,
to stick on their posters on the Oudstrijdersplein. Some Flemings were dressed as nurses, to "desinfect the
place of Walloon flu".
The action was closely followed by a bailiff and some policemen, who were no match for the militants, however.
Democratic right
Damien Thiéry told Marc Demesmaeker, N-VA-sherrif in Halle in Dutch: "We
only want to use our democratic right to inform the voters about the existence of Francophone
candidates in the elections for the Flemish parliament".
In a grimm atmosphere, the militants took the posters and the paste away from the francophones. All they could do
was to go away after some twenty minutes.
No billboards
In an number of towns in Flemish-Brabant, eg. Halle and Affligem, measures were taken to limit or completely forbid
posters of Francophone candidates for the regional elections of June 7, while in Machelen,
Beersel and Kapelle-op-den-Bos they decided not to install any billboards.
To support the candidates of the Union des Francophones, FDF started a
procedure against the police rules in Halle a few days ago. There will also be a complaint against
the members of the council. In a few days time Christian Van Eycken and other candidates of the UF will complain
in the European Commission.

Some more oil on the fire
Maingain defends the printing of bilingual polling forms

According to Olivier Maingain (FDF, pictured) the bilingual polling forms are perfectly legal.
Apart from that, they also lead to a very modest expense, he continues.
Yet he gets quite a bit of opposition from his own francophone side, especially of Ecolo, CdH and PS.
Make no mistake: that opposition is not because he xrosses the Flemings (what were you thinking?) or because he
oversteps the mark, it is only because the aforementioned parties think there has been no, or not enough consultation with the other francophones.
Maingain also challenges anyone to prove that what he is doing is not legal.
The real question here is: what does that character interfere with?
|
20/05/2009
And they are at it again
Three mayors are sending French polling letters again

According to La Libre and Le Soir, the mayors of Linkebeek, Kraainem and Wezembeek have sent the polling letters
for the elections of June 7 in French to the francophone in habitants again. For that, they got full support from
Olivier Maingain, the mayor of Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe.
Peeters
The mayors already violated the public memo by Kris Peeters in 2006 and 2007 by doing the same thing then. That memo decreed
that the polling letters have to be sent in Dutch and that francophones can apply for a version in their language
later.
Appointment
Exactly for that reason, ie. sending the letters in French, minister Marino Keulen has been refusing to appoint the 3 mayors for
the last 3 years.
Support Maingain
Olivier Maingain gave his support and had the letters printed. (What business does he have in those towns?)
On top of that, he also finds it necessary to refer to the sending of the letters in Dutch as 'illegal' (in Dutch speaking towns nota bene).

This is how far we have come

On Saturdays at 2 pm, swimming pool "De Rozenbroeken" in
Sint-Amandsberg (that is GHENT) is completely reserved for Muslim women.
No one else is allowed in, there are even Muslim women at the entrance,
wearing their "night dresses".
As I sometimes have to wait for my grandchildren [the swimming champions]
until they are dressed, I pluck up my courage and go looking for them.
"You not Turk, you not come in" .
Some women are in the big pool, fully dressed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is not a joke ! ! ! ! ! And NOT hearsay.
My own grandchildren are not allowed to wear swimming shorts as theose are deemed unhygienic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Ghent mayor grants their every wish.
Send this through to everyone who wants to hear it.

That preferential treatment, all in function of a religion which has nothing to do with Europe is really getting beyond a joke for me now !
Would people please remember that on election day.
Same situation in Antwerp by the way, where the windows of the cafeteria, from where one could look in the pool area, had to be replaced by matt glass, as we might get tempted by Muslim women, wrapped in black sheets, who rinse their clothes, along with themselves in the swimming pool.
There too, the mayor is am Spa-er ! (Janssens with his Marcel)

The report
18-05-2009
Convention - ELECTIONS09:
De Vlaamse Volksbeweging (VVB) calls the
Flemish parties not to make any communautary demands, but to let the
francophones come forward with their questions. That was
president Eric Defoort's message yesterday at "the" convention "Ik kies
voor Vlaanderen (I choose for Flanders)" in Antwerp, which some 1,500 Flemish nationalists attended.
Especially thee CD&V-top and the Belgavox event, held in Brussels
at the same time, got heavily criticised.
Defoort Hackeled the CD&V who, after throwing out their communitary
demands of 2007, want to restart the dialogue between the communities
after June 7. "Politics are not the art of the possible,
mister Peeters. Politics are the art of making possible what you
think is necessary", thus he addressed the aspiring minister-president.
He warned the audience that the CD&V, with Kris Peeters as
their example, just want to carry on with the same government after June 7. "With those
kinds of partners CD&V just wants to go towards a major - at least that is what CD&V'ers
claim - state reform", continues Eric Defoort. He called upon the "Flemish" CD&V'ers
not to accept the "cheating" of the party leaders and to express that on election day.
Sp.a, Open Vld and Groen! were very heavily criticised.
The VVB sees the two Flemish nationalist parties, Vlaams Belang and N-VA,
as allies. Partie such as LDD, which had their electoral meeting earlier in the day in the same building,
and SLP, it sees as possible allies.
Defoort appealed to the Flemish parties to speak for an alternative before the elections.
"We ask nothing. The francophones must come forward with
their qustions. We concentrate on our own
authority which we stick to exhaustively, including all grey areas", says
the VVB-president. He added that Flanders must call for conflicts of interest
if federal decrees are deemed harmful for the region, "no matter how minimal".
He also appealed for the Flemish budget to stop paying for shortages and debts on other levels
any longer. He want BHV to follow the
"ridiculous" parliamentary path "up to the unavoidable
split".
At the convention, also the mayors of the Brussels
peripheral communities, the liberal Willy De Waele (Lennik) and the Christian democrat
Dirk Brankaer (Overijse). De Waele criticised the BHV-saga, in which the
francophones delayed the execution of the vote in the Home Chamber commission
through conflicts of interest for 2 years, 2
months and 19 days. For Brankaer, the community
arguments of teh past years have made sure the public opinion started rthinking about
Flemish independence and that Flemish politicians dare put the
Flemish promises above the Belgian ones. The BRT, which you must watch to know everything,
according to them, knew nothing about the Convention at 7 pm
though they knew all about Belgavox. Still a bit strange as I personally saw a car of the
BRT there.
Note: Also Vlaams Belang reports extensively about the convention (Dutch only). That news you can read here.
The ordinary newspapers seem to forget their duties too. After visiting the web sites of 3 newspapers I have been unable to discover a single word
about the convention.

18/05/2009
As told by an observer
18-05-2009
Nothing to be seen or heard on VRT.
Yesterday, Sunday May 17 2009 the "Convention" with the theme "Ik kies voor Vlaanderen (I choose for Flandesr)" should have taken place in Antwerp. That event was organised by "Vlaamse Volksbeweging (Flemish People's Movement (VVB)".
I only watched the news on VRT-één at 6 pm but not a word was mentioned about the "Convention".
The newsreader only said at the end that in the 7 pm news there would be extensivre coverage of the "Belgavox concert" which also took place today in the shadow of the Atomium.
The concert (for tolerance...diversity and more politically coloured rubbish) was to be a counter weight for the "Convention".
The FREE concert was sponsored by, among others, the National Lottery, Belgacom and the NMBS (The Railway Company). I do not understand why a free concert has to be sponsored. Who does all the sponsor money go to???
The VRT contributed too by loudly advertising the "Belgavox concert" during the final of the music programme "Zo is er maar één (There is but one like that)", advertising done by presenter Yasmine (Friday evening, May 8 2009).
Iwas unable to watch the 7 pm news.
Well, I watched the 8 pm news instead. Again, not one word about the "Convention".
It was mentioned that on the "Belgavox concert" there were about 35,000 people present, but those were only temporary figures.
A report about the "Convention", regarding Flemish demands, was not worth showing. Has it not taken place then?.
Is VRT not an objective and neutral TV station?
The VRT employees are handsomely paid with Flemish tax money. And in spite of that they cover an event in which the participants aim for preserving and the unity of Belgium, while an activity about Flemish demands is completely ignored.
Biting the hand that feeds them having lots of fun with our money seems to be their trademark.
Things like that are only possible in Belgium.
With Flemish regards.

Convention
I am now awaiting reports of the Convention Ik kies voor Vlaanderen (I choose for Flanders), which took place in Antwerp today
and about which you cannot find a single word in the media (apart from here), after all, to them it is more fun and more important to write
about that belgicist extortion.
As soon as material comes in I shall write extensively about the convention. |
17/05/2009
Propaganda?
According to the latest press releases, some 35,000 people attended the political Belgavox concert. (You know, the 'free'
concert, sponsored with our money.) According to the reactions of people who followed the event, and going by what De Standaard wrote initially,
those figures could be immensely exaggerated. Observers say there were between 1,000 and 5,000
people present, and the first articles in De Standaard said it started with great difficulty, and suddenly they also mention 35,000 spectators.
Patriotism
It strikes (also according to De Standaard) there were hardly any Belgian flags or insignia present. Would the patriotism
not be as intense as they thought it was? Is the real reason not the free entrance? One reader even mentions that the parking attendants had
'prepared a few words of Dutch for the occasion'. The Atomium, attraction for the whole country, and even there they still have to practice 'goede middag (good afternoon)' en 'alstublieft (please, here you are)'.
Nice and Belgian, don't you think!?!?
The message itself
'We are musicians, not politicians', said Stijn Kolacni. What is that concert, apart from a political and electoral game?
And, about the artists, well, we already knew what side Johan Verminnen is on, but after reading the article I noticed it is best to leave Laura Lynn's CDs in the shop too.

Again? Poor victim
Freya's house soiled with paint

Last night, vandals have soiled Freya Van den Bossche's (sp.a, pictured) residence in Ghent with paint. This was confirmed
by the CPS of Ghent. So far, there is no trace of the culprits, just as there is no trace of the people who set
her campaign van on fire (see previous article). Whether or not there is a connection between
both 'attacks' is being investigated. |

New occupiers?
Wilders' Party helps Belgium to die (to annihilate Flanders)

"We want to participate actively in the abolishment of Belgium and the reuniting of Flanders and the Netherlands"
Geert Wilders, Dutch politician (PVV)
|
Geert Wilders (pictured), of the Dutch Partij voor de Vrijheid (Party for Liberty, PVV), is determined
to, along with his party, help putting an end to Belgium.
In order to achieve this, the party asks for an ambassador in Flanders, instead of Belgium.
Who cares about that country?
Research has shown that the image of this country is even worse than the one of Eritrea and South-Ossetia.
According to PVV this is a sign that Belgium is an artificial state nobody cares about.
Approval
Filip Dewinter (Vlaams Belang) reacts to Geert Wilders' idea with gladness. "Dutch support for an independent
Flanders is certainly welcome. Geert Wilders' reaction shows that also in the Netherlands the split of Belgium is taken into
account more and more", says Dewinter.
Some further comment is certainly due:
I agree with Filip Dewinter that any support for an independent Flanders is welcome, but then exactly and only that:
an independent Flanders.
Those are Filip Dewinter's literal words, he does not say a single word about annexation.
In all honesty, I myself would also be horrified to turn from Fleming into Hollander.
A co-operation, cultural en economical, must be possible, however, after fighting for freedom independence for more than 100 years
it would not be appropriate if we gave ourselves in the hands of an occupier again.
Sincere thanks to PVV for the support in our fight for independence, but nothing more.

Great news
(According to the political correct newspapers anyway)
Freya's campaign car set on fire

The brand new campaign car of sp.a-leader Freya Van den Bossche (sp.a, pictured) which was used for the 7 June elections, was set on fire.
The Mercedes Vito, which had lifelike images of Van den Bossche and Flemish mobility minister Kathleen Van Brempt on the sides, had only been on the Flemish roads a few weeks.
Monday night, the car was parked on the Edward Anseeleplein, near the East-Flanders sp.a headquarters in Ghent.
There the car was burned out completely.
The media mad girl thinks the fact that it happens in Ghent is "worrying". (Of course, as Ghent is really such a safe city without
any crime whatsoever, according to sp.a). She further also refers to the fact that she was followed by a stalker in the past.
This does indeed go to far, respect other people's property, however, now she too knows what it means to be fought "with all possible means" ,
like her previous leader Louis Tobback called to do with what was then called Vlaams Blok.
Also, a lot of crime was aided and encouraged by the pamperimg politics and tolerance of the socialists, if it were really a
criminal act, they now face the consequences of their own acting.
On another note, it could also have been a good stunt to make it into the media right before the elections, and they have someone in their party who likes to start fires,
I believe bank notes can be an ideal fire accelerator.
Wgat strikes too is that Het Laatste Nieuws writes a nice piece about it, and underneath the article there are 2 filmp clips about vandalism against the election posters of Groen! and the VLD,
but where is the news that a Vlaams Belang office was pasted full with sp.a posters, or the news about the destruction of Vlaams Belang billboards?
By the way, why do the being against capitalism socialist an expensive car like a Mercedes Vito for their campaigns?
And, is it once again not us who end up paying for it? |

Elections coming
The impression the title gives is emphasised strongly again.
Once again there are lots of activities and studies and all that, which are once again aimed against Flemish feelings in general, and against one party in
particular.
Let us sum things up:
º To begin with we are getting another 'free' (political) concert below the Atomium.
Well, instead of the 0110 concerts we now have Belgavox, once again 'free' but it will
eat away a great deal of our taxes. And right away we know which CDs we can leave on the shelves: Axelle Red,
Will Tura (where are the days of his "Omdat ik Vlaming ben (Because I am a Fleming)"? Of course, he is now a barron and he has to show his belgicist gratitude),
Toots Thielemans (A pity, my favourite jazz man), Arno (makes me ashamed to be an Ostender), Adamo and even Rocco Granata.
Also Koen Buyse (Zornik), Stef Kamil Carlens (Zita Swoon), Joshua, Steven and Stijn Kolacny, Paul Michiels, Jef Neve, Patrick Ouchène, Bart Peeters, Kate Ryan, Saule, Ete 67, Suarez and Triggerfinger have confirmed their participation. They will be accompanied by De Laatste Showband.
The nonprofit organisation Belgavox wants to "contribute to reinforcing solidarity, yhe dialogue, respect, the feeling of unity and the multicultural diversity in Belgium"
It is clear again which side the wind blows from. In Laken there will be trembling again soon, as the man
from the palace will not know where to look first with the amount of medals he will have to give out.
In the mean time also Geert Bourgeois (N-VA, pictured) has made clear he thinks it is not on that VRT supports that event,
as, in doing so, they take a political stance. I see what he is saying, but as I said, election time is near, and then many people play the Flemish card.
º The study
The learned heads of thee KUL (Is that L for left, I don't remember) have once again done everything (especially spending resources and money) to produce a huge study.
"In Flanders, there is no connection between the number of migrants in a town and the social trust or the participation in community life.
"Migrants have no negative influence on the quality of living together in a community". This shows a study of the KU Leuven which is presented today on the study day 'Social State of Flanders'.
The results of the research contradict previous American research.
"
An earlier American study no longer has any value, also, the fact that CNN came to film in some Brussels areas to show
to show the things that go wrong is of course rubbish.
It once again becomes clear they are attempting to influence the electoral choice of the Flemings and it is, once again, very clear, one
particular party is being victimised.

Remembering a great man.
Below is a poem by The Very Reverend Cyriel Verschaeve (picture, also see the persons page), whose birth we remember tomorrow.
(Translated from Dutch by the webmaster).
Poem
Cyriel Verschaeve
Ardooie 1874 Solbad Hall 1949
Young they were, and fresh,
Those who had to be killed so early,
Young, happy and healthy,so good!and so handsome!
Live forever up there and live down here!
One does not dig unde spring
Nor the glowing morning;
You will have to rise again,
May your grave give backr,
What is endlessly beautiful
For grave and for death
He who buried his morning,
Had to reclaim his morning,
May your grave have a morning,
Of beautiful sunshine!
He who dug under youth, has to give youth
its future back,
Our future is FLANDERS
Thus cry the dead !

Too little, too late

Once again a stupid belgicist initiative was found which will cost someone (the question is "who?", the answer is
probably already known) hand full of money.
"(Her)trouwen pour la solidarité" ((Re)marry for solidarity) the monstrosity is called, and it takes place on May 23rd
in the town hall of Brussels.
With this action the 'solidarists' want to show that living together of people from different communities is possible.
No expense spared
There is no doubt it will be, as mentioned earlier, an expensive joke. After all, there is a debate on whether Brussels is a problem area
first, then Freddy Thielemans (the mayor of brussels) will lead the ceremony, after which there will be a
romantic reception, and the day will be concluded with a huge ball. We will have to go deep in our pockets again for such a charade.
Bilingual
The show is supposed to 'prove' a commitment between a Neerlandophone/Francophone or speaker of another language is perfectly possible.
However, they only mention the differences between Flemings, Walloons and Brusselers, about the Germanophone community,
as usual, not a word. And that 'speaker of another language', wel, we have understood perfectly, haven't we?
Signal
They want to send out a signal about the possibilities of people from different language groups to live together.
Of course, as long as only French is spoken in those families, and as long as us, Flemings, go on paying, they will keep trying
to put up a smoke screen as if the francophones and francophone Brusselers are our friends. It is also terrible the action
has the full support of Guy Tordeur, ACV-secretary and spokesman of Red de Solidariteit (Save the solidarity). The ACV, a
trade union cell of CD&V, you know, with lion flags, five minutes of political courage, split without delay and other Flemish promises.
SAD!!!

Top class hypocrisy

Today we learned that Tine Van Rompuy (both pictures), sister of ... and ... will be on the communist (extreme left) list PVDA+.
Officially they call her "expansion candidate" (whatever that means in left wing jargon) and she will take third place
in the European elections. Tine Van Rompuy is a nurse in the Leuven Gasthuisberg hospital and is
a trade union delegate for the christian employee cell LBC. I am curious now if LBC will throw her out too
for being a member of an extreme party (Although that only seems to apply for the right).
Kiwi model
PVDA+ is the renewed Partij Van De Arbeid (Party Of Labour), which wants to be more open and less dogmatic than the old PVDA.
Tine Van Rompuy feels attracted to the programme of programma van PVDA+ because she is behind the idea of a capital tax.
"It is not up to the poorest to finance the crisis", she says about that. She is also a fan of the so called "kiwi model" for
the health services, for which PVDA-doctor Dirk Van Duppen pleaded strongly a few years ago.
Contrary to her two brothers, Tine Van Rompuy does not feel attracted to CD&V. "CD&V is not
for a capital tax and not for the kiwi model", is her explanation.
PVDA+ runs a campaign against "the political circus" with posters and flyers on which, among others, PM Herman Van Rompuy
is depicted wearing a red nose like a clown. According to Tine Van Rompuy her political
engagement is no problem to her brothers Herman en Eric. "We are a family where that is possible", she says.
Now the hypocrisy is shown
According to brother Eric, too, there is no problem. "Same name, different game. It is not because you are brother and sister, you
can't have different political opinions. For us the family bond goes beyond political
engagement", writes Eric on his website.
Was he not the same bloke who, when his brother became PM, dumped his yellow and black "Splits BHV Nu" T-shirt and gave up his Flemish principles
(in as far as we can use that word when it comes to a CD&V'er) "in order not to damage his brother's interests"?
Supporting a communist party, however, is possible.
CD&V will always be CD&V. |

Shameless self service
Last week it got known that the Flemish government has just appointed 3 so called district leaders (good for
3.000 euro a month and equal pension). Completely by chance the three chosen ones were neatly divided
over the three traditional parties. The best known one is without doubt Anne ‘daughter of’ Martens. It must be said:
the political class look after themselves well.

The day after the night before
On Thursday March 26 the Nationalistische Studentenvereniging (Nationalist Student Organisation, NSV) organised a demonstration with the theme
"Flemish, Social & National".
Of course a gang of Blokbusters and other left wing scum had to come and spoil things with a counterdemonstration.
It may be a democratic right to demonstrate, but, if only done to provoke, a line must be drawn.
Then, the Blokbuster leader calmly says the demo was a success, and went through peacefully, and also finds it necessary to say there have been "some minor problems",
but "his group cannot be held responsible for that".
There was also the usual brilliant VTM (as red as the national TV), where the NSV were constantly branded as
"extreme right", and de opposing "angels" are now and then referred to as "left".
Also the police spokesman is afraid to call aspade a spade, he mentions "arrests of some
10 to 15 "extreme right" demonstrators", but not a word about the other (about 35 - 40) arrests.
Yet the reporters slip up now and then, when they clearly imply the damage
was done by 'the left', and when they mention the provoking of the police and the throwing of objects at police by 'eft wing demonstrators'.
When watching the clip, somehing else springs to mind: can you see the NSV paint slogans against capitalism?
Or even more: can you see the NSV paint slogans in English?
Incidently, what has the theme to do with capitalism? Also, is the cause they demonstrated for an 'extreme right' principle?
When is that media brainwash going to end and when are we going to get unbiased news?
On our media page the VTM clip was added (Subtitled in English by the webmaster).
As usual the latest clips can be found at the bottom of the page. |

Would be honest words, were it not...
Dedecker: "Talking with Vlaams Belang is possible, governing together is not"

The above title can be found in Het Laatste Nieuws, in a report about a debate between Jean-Marie Dedecker
(LDD, pictured) and Filip Dewinter (Vlaams Belang), a debate which took place this morning in the political talkshow De zevende dag on
VRT television.
Dewinter thinks Dedecker prostitutes himself for the traditional parties and for a place in the government.
Dedecker does not take this. "We have a vision on society. To confirm that vision you have to be in power. When on a football pitch, you can only score goals when you play. You can also sit in the stand for 30 years", says Dedecker.
The question is, WHY would it be Vlaams Blok/Vlaams Belang have been watching from the stands for 30 years?
I don't think the answer to this question needs to be repeated.
Dedecker once again keeps going black and white, he has proven in the past to be a master at that (even recently).
Dedecker repeated he is against the embargo, but it has worked nevertheless. "You have been at the sideline for 30 years", it sounded.
The LDD-leader he pleads for a right wing social-economical government, a government Dedecker thinks he can realise best with centre right parties like Open Vld en CD&V.
Forza Flandria
Dedecker sees Forza Flandria more as a possibility to work together with the right, after the elections, about matters like "an independent Flanders, splitting the health fund and splitting Brussels-Halle-Vilvoorde".
How will he realise those things by working with the liberals and Christian Democrats (both belgicist) and by visiting the royal palace?

The meat pots are calling
N-VA want an integration exam

To beginn with: what a beautiful picture!
The best illustration of how Bart Dewever (N-VA) is testing where the wind blows from.
Something has to be done to gain some votes for his party the coming June. Thus thinks the man who once said
he could never agree with the ideas of Vlaams Belang.
What do we see now? With his usual populism he is now taken over parts of the Vlaams Belang programme, he
even does not want that "Vlaams Belang, because of the recent book by Filip Dewinter, claims the monopoly about the theme".
Weak copy
In other words, he wants that monopoly (because of which there is an embargo, and the things which are constantly held against Vlaams Belang)
to be broken so he can claim a piece of it himself. (Maybe it appeals to the people after all?)
He does, however, remain faithful to his black and white politics (like he declared in the past to be against the embargo and then abstained during the vote against it,
or by claiming he wanted to split BHV immediately, and then voted against the split resolution by Vlaams Belang), by
winking at the political correct parties, and to carry on pampering immigrants, by saying he wants to link a series of rights
to the duties. Nothing new there then.
I never knew Het Laatste Nieuws had now become a humouristic newspaper.

Predator
Dewinter: "Islam is predator which attacks weak prey Europe"

"Islamophobia is a duty". This says Filip Dewinter (Vlaams Belang, pictured) in his new book "Inch'Allah? De islamisation of Europe" which will be introduced on Monday.
The fraction leader of Vlaams Belang thinks the islam is a predator which attacks the weak prey Europe.
He pleads for reducing the islamic structures which are developing in Flanders, stopping the islamisisation and a stop of immigration from islamic countries.
Strict policies
Dewinter wants to cut off muslims by strict policies on satellite dishes, internet and other digital communication.
The Flemish and local authorities must do stricter research about de mosques before their recognition and
subsidising. They must be subjected to a permanent safety supervision. The structures which the islam is building up in Flanders and
Europa, must be reduced again.
And right he is, of course there were once again the usual very weak left wing comments in the papers (due to lack of anything better, as usual), such as
"Vlaams Belang are all for freedom of speech, now they want to limit it by limiting satellite and internetcommunication", or,
"Does Vlaams Belang want to turn the clock back? No more internet nor satellite TV?". No, of course not, what it is really about
is there have to be stricter checks on data communication through these channels, it is well known muslims do not have dishes to watch
Play School or to learn English via educational TV. Also, on Islamic websites there should be stricter checks
to see which messages are communicated to and from muslims (especially hte radical ones) and the mosques. |

Would there be elections due?
CD&V threatens new one sided BHV-vote
Or
Who believes those people any longer?
Or
Where have we heard this before?

We would be inclined to think there is an election due.
Tough Flemish talk from the CD&V camp again, this time by Ludwig Caluwé (pictured).
That man, fraction leader for his party, once again threatens they wil split BHV unconditionally if the francophones
do not come across themselves with acceptable propositions.
After June 7
Slim zijn ze echter wel:
If the francophones do not come across themselves with acceptable propositions, CD&V will support approval of the split of BHV in the Chamber
after the elections of June the 7th, says Caluwé.
Watch the grammar: "After the elections of June the 7th", which gives them enough time again to stand there waving
lion flags, only to say later that those flags are seen at the finish line, but on the podium they play the Brabançonne
(the Belgian national anthem) anyway.
A laugh a minute, it gets even better
Of course they are right when they claim: "Such a Flemish effort regarding the split of BHV will of course not be accepted by the francophones".
it would indeed lead to a serious political crisis, which could even mean the end of the government Van Rompuy (how do they know
there will still be a government Van Rompuy after the elections?), but they are willing to accept even that.
CD&V who would give up positions? Come on. Maybe the abandonments, which will help them to take up their seats, are ready.
Good excuse
At this time, such a vote is not yet relevant, as a conflict of interests is still pending. That delays the parliamentary procedure. "In a few months time all decoys surrounding BHV will be finished and a one sided vote will be possible", continues Caluwé.
The CD&V crinkling is clear again. Frightened not to make the electoral minimum? Striking how Flemish the party always keeps acting between elections.
Or, in the words of Leterme: "Wbelieves those people any longer?".
The only thing that worries me is that there are still many people stupid enough to fall for all that.

More two sided swords
Bilingual campaign archdiocese is perfectly possible

Marino Keulen (Open VLD, pictured), thinks the biolingual publicity regarding the jubilee of the Archdiocese Mechlin-Brussels
is perfectly possible, as everything is 'legally completely correct'.
I would not be so sure of that, in unilingually Dutch areas bilingual material was distributed, something which is clearly
against the linguistic law.
He argues that in the francophone areas everything was distributed bilingually, but if people from that region see it as "une provocation"
, why should we find it normal?
Further, according to Keulen, the Archdiocese 'only made a miscalculation', and according to cardinal Danneels' spokesman, it was only done
'to reduce the cost'.
That does not alter the fact the senior clergy have always been on the side of the francophones, remember Mercier, Van Roey, Suenens, and
Emiel-Jozef Desmet, to name but a few.

More and more trouble, true colours being shown
After the CD&V mayors of Voeren, Alken en Overijse openly declared their party cheats the voters
(totally true, but that has been the case for decades) and they talk about nostalgia for the CD&V/N-VA cartel,
and yes, Bart de Wever too applauds their words, especially the words about missing the cartel, (would there be people at any or both sides
who fear not to get the electoral minimum?), the true colours are being shown again.
Flemish minister-president Kris Peeters has now blown up the community dialogue.
Vlaams Belang
Vlaams Belang say 'serves you right', and summarises the events as follows:
To Vlaams Belang, the community dialogue never even started because of two reasons: the Walloons did not want to and Kris Peeters was afraid to.
"The Walloon guarantees, which Peeters claimed to have in his pocket, finally seem to be nothing more than thin air", Vlaams Belang concludes. A 'plan B' in case of failure was also non existent. "Yet the 'plan B' of Flemish independence was the only available weapon to get the Walloons around the table", it goes on.
Walloons get what they want
Vlaams Belang thinks the strong Flemish satements by the minister-president "are totally inappropriate": The walloons are the only ones who get what they want: no state reform. "Not only does the Flemish government agreement stay nothing but empty words, on top of that it seems like the Walloon blackmail has worked again".
Causing a short circuit
To thee party it is not on that Kris Peeters just accepts the facts and carries on with the rest of the agenda. "Instead of pulling the plug on the dialogue, he has to cause a short circuit. That is only possible if CD&V, sp.a and Open Vld do not accept the Belgian status quo, and finally have the courage to go for Flemish independence", this think party president Bruno Valkeniers and fraction leader in the Flemish parliament, Filip Dewinter.
They clearly feel the CD&V/N-VA strategy has hopelessly failed.
N-VA
Opposition party N-VA claims that Flemish minister-president Kris Peeters has cheated the people by saying there were "guarantees" for success in the dialogue. This says N-VA'er Geert Bourgeois. Some time ago he left the Flemish government because he did not believe in the community dialogue.
If I am not mistaken Geert Bourgeois left the government after the cartel died, and certainly not of his own free will.
Maingain
Olivier Maingain (FDF), now claims he wants to hear the Flemish demands (listening is of course another matter, and the
'NON' invariably stays in place),
but he thinks he is entitled to put the francophone demands on the table. With this he refers to going on insisting on the nomination of the three mayors
in the Brussels borders.
LDD
Finally, Lijst Dedecker (LDD) just echos the rest of the opposition, he claims the Flemish minister-president is fooling the Flemings and the whole Flemish Parliment.
We do not need to pay too much attention to that, as Jean-Marie Dedecker constantly contradicts himself. Flemish separatist on one occasion,
belgicist at other times, he wants a coalition with CD&V, now he kicks them while they are down, best to leave it at that. |

Own people first
Prime Minister Van Rompuy wants Leterme as a minister

No, you are not reading the Vlaams Belang slogan, in their case that is deemed to be racist. So, read on...
The man who screamed he did not want to be prime minister not so long ago now says:
"I am prime minister, I have decided I love to be PM, and I am going for the full legislature.".
This was Christian Democrat trick number 1.
But it is getting better, as it is now revealed that Herman Van Rompuy wants Yves Leterme as a minister in his government,
eg. as Foreign Minister. This opportunity would come when Karel De Gught goes to the
European Commission.
That is very typical, a minister with egg on his face and who was forced to resign, is now fished up again, ans will most probably be
appointed to the post, while they try to keep others out of office 'with all possible means', even making
new laws or adjusting the existing laws if they have to.
Besides, if any of us apply for a job, we have to apply, go through interviews, even do
competence tests in some cases, while those people, regardless of their past and background, nor their competence, just get appointed.
Typical Christian Democrats again, just watch employees round our way, all top functions are taken by people with names that are very well known within the CD&V-top, while they still set
exams for those positions, there are even people there without the proper qualifications for the job.
Poor Flanders. Why do people not put a stop to that CD&V dictatorship on June 7?
Will they still be stupid enough to believe in the empty boxes CD&V keep promising?
Please give them a humiliation they will remember for years to come. |

Now we know why
Flemish parliament sells house beer

The main Hall of the Flemish parliament is being renovated thoroughly. Flemish parliament president Marleen Vanderpoorten has introduced the plans for the renovation. The hall must become a meeting place for Flemings in Brussels.
the parliament shop in the hall offers something new. "Halfrond" (Hemisphere), the new house beer of the parliament, will be sold there.
According to MP and beer specialist Sven Gatz it is a "golden blond of 7.5 proof with a rich and thick froth" and "a fresh aroma and a strong taste because of an excellent malt an hop balance".
Now we know why so many stupid things are done in politics.
I am also curious if the income of the beer will be used for the benefit of the Flemish people.
That does, of course, not alter the fact I would not mind tasting the beer.

Does justice exist?
Frank Vanhecke fights lift of immunity

MEP and former Vlaams Belang president Frank Vanhecke is appealing against the lift of his parliamentary immunity by the European parliament, which happened at the end of 2008.
He has started a procedure in the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg.
Treaties violated
The internal rules of the European parliament state that for the lifting of the immunity of an MEP there must be a debate in the complete assembly, says Vanhecke. In spite of the request by Vlaams Belang there was no debate. After advice by his lawyers and justice specialists Frank Vanhecke concluded the European parliament has violated the European treaties.
"According to those treaties, all European institutions, hence also the European parliament, must stick to their internal procedures and also to the fundamental human rights, including the right to a fair trial", says Vanhecke.
He therefore handed in a request to the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg, more precisely the Supreme Court, to overturn the decision to lift his immunity, "and in doing this he wants to make possible an open debate, including all pro and con arguments".
We now eagerly await the outcome of the appeal, and we wish Frank Vanhecke the very best of luck.
Or are procedure errors only relevant for left wing politicians and police chiefs and immigrated murderers and criminals? |

Vlaams Belang snub transfers of billions

Piggy banks and transfers
03.02.2009 16.34 - This afternoon, Vlaams Belang introduced its pre-campaign ‘Vlaams geld in Vlaamse handen’ (Flemish money in Flemish hands). At the time when the economic crisis is at its worst, this message is more relevant than ever. "In times of a complete economic crisis Flanders cannot afford, now less than ever, that a major part of its prosperity is sponged of,” said Vlaams Belang-president Bruno Valkeniers. “The only result is that Flanders pauperises and thar Wallonia, jammed by the clientelism of the PS and the electoral bid of the MR, does not get any better.” Valkeniers emphasised that Vlaams Belang does not oppose real solidarity, but that is better organised within a European context.
Filip Dewinter announced an eye catching stunt: over the next few weeks, Vlaams Belang will give out nearly 3 million small and large piggy banks in Flanders. Just before the campaign stop period every Fleming is getting a piggy bank with the campaign slogan printed on it through their letterbox.

Now we see
Dedecker is not interested in a coalition with Vlaams Belang

In judo, quite often concealed attacks are being used
(Remember, the man we are writing about is the former national judo coach).
All of a sudden the attack is launched, by the man who spat out and accused the liberal party, the man who did not see them as liberal
enough, the man who described the embargo as undemocratic, the man who was Flemish nationalist and republican, but who loved going on coffee afternoons at the palace in Laken.
Today we could read:
"Jean-Marie Dedecker hopes to gain between 10 and 12 per cent with Lijst dedecker (LDD) in the Flemish elections on June 7th. Afterwards, he wants to make up a majority with CD&V en Open Vld. "This is the alternative for the current team", says the MP in an interview with Knack. In this interview Dedecker also admits that the embargo against Vlaams Belang has worked. "Vlaams Belang is and remains excluded from power", he continues".
In other words, te "man who was going to change things", now wants to leave things as they were before by keeping the people who are mainly responsible for the political choas
in power.
We would like a bit more clarity when he says:"The embargo is undemocratic, but it has worked and it keeps Vlaams Belang nicely out of power",
come on, Jean-Marie, what is it to be?
Furthermore, he stresses "Becoming a minister is not strictly necessary for me". Sure, until the positions are to be divided.
CD&V/N-VA used to say the same things, and we have seen the result. Just wait until his bunch of traitors and former judokas smell the odour of power and money.
He goes on he would like to govern "without the left" (He wants no position but he wants to govern, how does that work?).
Besides, what are CD&V and Open VLD? Are they that right wing?
No matter what, we must be grateful to Jean-Marie Dedecker as a matter of fact.
Grateful he has shown his true colours.
In the mean time, many people who considered voting for LDD have now said "Thanks, but, no thanks".

The VVB moves
The Vlaamse Volksbeweging (VVB, Flemish Popular Movement) have also protested against the things that are going on for the celebrations of
'450 years of the Archdiocese Mechlin-Brussels'.
President Eric Defoort has written an open letter to the Archdiocese to protest about the bilingual material that is being distributed, even
within the unilingually Flemish parts of the Archdiocese.
Earlier, the spokesman for cardinal Godfried Danneels had made public the only reason for making all materials bilingual was only to keep the cost down.
However, it is not unlikely that VVB now takes action, since it was announced in a local paper they have recently lost more than a thousand members.

Elections

Elections are coming up.
This becomes very obvious, as Bart De Wever (N-VA, pictured in front of a text from his French language website) is
going to act the great Flemish filantropist.
Now the alliance with the CD&V is no more, something needs to be done to make the electoral minimum.
Bart De Wever now wants to increase family allowance, at first glance we could say "who would mind getting that?".
The problem, however, is partly in the fact that everyone knows which part of the population will take full advantage (literally) of that.
Who comes here and breeds like rabbits, has children with a number of different women, and gets family allowance
for children that do not even reside in our country?
Or does he, along with the socialists, attract the same voters by pampering them?
De Wever does not forget to kick other parties while they are down, especially his 'former lover' CD&V.
"Thus 2008 became the year of the big disappointment, the year of the broken electoral promises", says the man who wanted a split of BHV 'without delay'
, who 'would not join a government before...'.
Poor Flanders if they are taken in by this.

Fun in the border round Brussels

Earlier this week the (not appointed) mayors of Kraainem, Wezembeek-Oppem and Linkebeek received a threatening letter.
The letter also contained white powder, which later turned out to be detergent. Maybe it was sent to them to wash out their mouths
after all the dirty talk they utter about the Flemings?
The only thing revealed about the letters was that they were written in French.
So, are they going to put on a show like the major world leaders (American presidents and the likes)?
Very odd nothing is revealed about the contents of the letters.
Or would they have failed to find a Walloon who knew enough Dutch to write the letters, in order to point the finger at the Flemings?

Lots of things happening, but are they any good?
The Church does it again
Is cardinal Danneels (even when retired) the newe cardinal Mercier? (A former cardinal who did everything to destroy
the Dutch language in and outside the church).
Taal Aktie Komitee (TAK=Language Action Committee) is doing actions against the bilingual promotion campaign
for the celebrations of 450 years Archdiocese Mechlin-Brussels.
More and more priests in Flemish-Brabant do not accept the fact that the official promotion material is laid out in two
languages.
On the banners, candles and prayer cards there are texts in Dutch and French. To reduce expenses,
the archdiocese says: 'In times of crisis it is not done to print the material in all languages separately.'
'Very unwise', thinks Flemish MP Mark Demesmaeker (N-VA) from Halle. 'With those bilingual
writings in parish churches in Flanders the archdiocese ignores the sensitivities which are going on especially in Flemish-Brabant.
In fact thechurch supports Francophone politicians who don't want nothing more than the extension of Brussels and a
generalisation of the facilities. This is like turning back the clock a hundred years.'
Also the priests in the border, people who know their parishes like no one else does, do not want to know about the bilingual
announcements they have to put up in their churches. The federation of deans and prish priests of flemish-Brabant decided with
a majority vote not to take part in this.
'The linguistic matter is a very sensitive one in the Flemish border. We do not want to upset our church goers, nor the councils, with
whom we have a good relationship', says the Dean from Halle, Raymond Decoster. 'We hope everyone uses their
common sense. As federation priests we are stuck between two sides. On one hand there is the loyalty and the 450 year jubilee
of the archdiocese, on the other hand, communication is very unfortunate.'
It looks like most priests will not use the bilingual material or will cut the French text off,
even if they are left with only half banners in their churches.
In the parish churches of Buizingen and Lot - with the priests Rik Devillé and Erik Meeus - they are very straightforward.
'Those banners and those leaflet are not coming into our church. We too have to respect the linguistic laws. Minister Marino Keulen has
determined that Dutch is the only official language in Flanders. This certainly goes for public buildings and
for places of worship. Many colleagues have decided to cut the French text off the banners and flags. We find this a bit
hypocritical. If the banners do not comply with the linguistic laws, we don't want them.'
For Jos Verstraeten, the assistant priest in Vossem near Tervuren, the matter is extra sensitive. A few years ago
he was dismissed from his functions in the facility town Wezembeek-Oppem because he had not done enough services in French.
'Love may be the language of the church, but love does begin with respect, including respect for the language
of the worshippers', he thinks.
Bert kicks up a stink again
When that man gets his hands on something, trouble is guaranteed.
After comparing events in the Gaza strip to the atrocities in Dendermonde, and got the wrath of the Jewish and Israeli
communities over himself, he once again made it possible for division to be created within his own party and between the other parties.
This is really something not just anyone could do.
Prime minister Erik Van Rompuy referred to him as als "one of the saddest politicians ever" but his
comrade party fellow and deputy president Dirk Van der Maelen came to his aid by saying that "he has shown he is a politician with a heart"
(a great heart certainly, right on the place of his inside pocket), while also president
Caroline Gennez keeps backing Bert, but 'distanciates herself from what he said', however.
The cherry on the cake is when we see Flemish minister-president Kris Peeters talks about "Forget about what happened with Anciaux",
thereby confirming the case is closed and the Flemish government goes on backing Bert Anciaux. Forget about it, just like BHV and the state reform.
That is definitely a different attitude than the one he showed with Frank Vanhecke, whose blood they were after because of a statement
he had not even made himself.
Still, the socialists wonder why an electoral depth is being predicted.
Black Sunday is coming.
At least something positive
Owners of fields in the Ardennes must not forbid camping youth organisations to put up the Flemish flag. Thus said
Walloon minister Philippe Courard (PS), the minister for the Walloon communities, in Le Soir.
With this, Courard responds to an initiative of the mayor of La Roche, Pierre Dardenne. He wanted owners of
camping fields to put a clause into the rent contract they negotiate with youth organisations which forbids putting up the
Flemish flag.
The major introduced this idea after a Flemish politician had mentioned the behaviour of a police officer in Rendeux in the
province of Luxembourg in the Committee P (the Police watchdog). In August he had asked boy scouts to strike the Belgian flag
next to the Flemish lion which had already been put up.
Sad, yet an appropriate hommage.
The 54 year old Marita Blindeman, staff member of the crèche Fabeltjesland, who was murdered by the monster Kim Van Gelder
and who was buried today, posthumously gets a first class medal for exceptional courage and bravery.
Rightly so, although it is a shame it had to come to that.
The brave lady gave her life to (in vain unfortunately) try and save the lives of innocent children.
There are still heroes and heroins on this earth.
My heart goes out to this exceptional lady, and also to the poor deceased babies, one of which was also buried today.
Why can't they follow the opinion poll from the newspapaer and respect the will of the people by re-introducing the death penalty for monsters like Van
Gelder?

Marie-Rose Morel very ill.

Vlaams Belang MP Marie-Rose Morel (36, pictured) has cancer of the womb. The disease is already in an advanced stadium and has spread to her groin.
The doctors give her a 10% chance she will still be with us in 5 years time. Marie-Rose, however, remains, like always, courageous and strong.
"It is not a lot, but enough", she says in an interview aan with Het Laatste Nieuws. "I will survive. It is not possible I will not be there when my youngest son Marnix blows out 3 candles and when Alexander goes to year one."
Tomorrow, Marie-Rose Morel will make a choice about which therapy to follow. One doctor advises her to start very strong chemotherapy right away and thinks an operation has no use, while a second doctor
considers an operation, but he warns for the fact it is a very difficult procedure, which can be life threatening.
Vlaanderen-Flanders herewith wishes Marie-Rose Morel a lot of strength and lots of good luck in her fight against this dreadful disease.
We will also keep you informed about the evolution.

What are they up to?
Work group BHV "only makes inventory" of proposals for solutions

The work group which must provide proposals for solutions in the Brussels-Halle-Vilvoorde (BHV) matter, will only make an "inventory" of all propositions. There will be no negotiations within the work group. This said Flemish minister-president Kris Peeters (CD&V) today in the Flemish parliament. Peeters repeated the Flemish government keeps backing the split of BHV, that BHV will not appear on the agenda of the communitary dialogue and that there will be no parallel negotiations.
However, in the mean time, the matter is swept under the table.
peeters, as well as the only francophone who was elected in the Flemish Parliament (because of the BHV status), Christian Van Eycken, think
the matter should be delayed until after the elections. They have no choice than to be honest and admit that any party which gives in in negotiations, runs the risk of being slaughtered by the voters.
Negotiating about BHV is only possible when the pressure of the elections has gone, continues Van Eycken.
They know well enough that electoral profit or loss depends on this, and they have no choice than to admit this.
|
27/01/2009
But they can go to dinner.
Maingain stands his ground: "Nominate mayors first"

The restart of the dialogue between the communities is no problem at all for FDF-president, Olivier Maingain. Maingain is nevertheless clear: there will be no in depth discussions or agreements without the nomination of the three mayors in the Brussels border, he repeated today.
Senate president Armand De Decker (MR) wants to restart the dialogue. De Decker, who is president of the dialogue, together with Flemish minister-president Kris Peeters, invites the twelve members involved and the two ministers of the Institutional Reforms Didier Reynders and Steven Vanackere for dinner at the end of this week or the beginning of next week.
The dialogue has stopped since Flemish Home Secretary Marino Keulen decided not to nominate the mayors of Kraainem, Linkebeek and Wezembeek-Oppem. |

Much sadder news.

Although this is no news related to the Flemish struggle for independence or something similar,
I think it is justified to reflect on the horrendous incidents which took place in Dendermonde
(once again).
I felt it to be my duty to pay tribute to the victims of that horrible maniac.
On this occasion, Vlaanderen-Flanders wishes to express sincere condoleances to all relatives involved and to remember the ones who lost their lives.
Now we await how lame justice is going to act again and which excuses (difficult childhood, unemployed...)
will be found again in order to minimise that monster's despicable actions.
In my opinion the death penalty is still too mild for someone like that.
Again, we want to wish everyone involved lots of strength in these difficult times.
Words really fail me.

Things go on to be funny.
One would really begin to wonder if Mrs. Gennez (pictured) is getting embarrassed.
At the sp-a New Year's reception the woman, believe it or not, apologised "for the commotion
that was created after getting Bert Anciaux and other ex-Vl.Pro'ers into the socialist party".
Anciaux and his clique were present at the reception, I wonder if they were wearing an Arafat scarf, just like Bert
now recommends to all flemings. (Why does he not turn it into a law and why does he not invest some millions to give one free of charge
to all Flemings, he likes to make stupid decisions and he loves throwing money around).
Anyway, back to the sp-a: Caroline Gennez also mentioned that the progressives "have the damn duty
to work together" (provided they don't have to stick together for too long, though, remember SPIRIT/VL. Pro).
She went on "Wounds were created which were not at all necessary. Misunderstandings have been created where
only clarity was appropriate. As president I was responsible for those misunderstandings".
Mia De Vits
Then another thing was revealed: "Gennez also announced that Mia De Vits has promised during a phone call
she will think about taking up a place on the Flemish list in the coming elections". You know, the very lady who, after
the failed name change of her party and after pulling in 'new progressive powers' would not have wanted to be seen dead on an sp-a list ever
again. But maybe the offer was one of a first place on the list this time, or certainly nothing lower than a second place?
Would Helmut Kohl have been right after all when he said "It is harder to get a socialist past a pot full of money than
it is to get a German shepherd past a sausage stall."? |
21/01/2009
Fiction or reality? It certainly is funny.

Where were the press?
During the CD&V's New Year reception (as referred to in the article below), members of Taal Aktie Komitee (TAK)
did an action. Where were the mentions about this in the press?
Below the integral contents of the press release regarding the action:
RE.: CD&V LEAVES FLANDERS IN THE COLD
More info: Roel De Leener, 0485/62.43.02
roel.de.leener@taalaktiekomitee.org
About 20 members of the Taal Aktie Komitee (TAK) did an action at the start of the CD&V's Neuw Year reception in Antwerp (hall Stuurboord) under the motto "CD&V leaves Flanders in the cold". At the entrance, 100 kgs of crushed ice was poured out and leaflets were given out. 4 activists had gone among the partygoers and they climbed the stage at the beginning of CD&V president Marianne Thyssen's speech. They held open a banner saying "Support the mayors - Split BHV" and posters with the slogan "Split BHV". With the action we wanted to protest against the return of the CVP.
BHV still has not been split
The past week a 3rd conflict of interests was called against the proposals to split BHV.
According to a number of law specialists this is NOT POSSIBLE:
- the annulating powers of such a conflict of interests would only be valid during the first half of the negotiations procedure which follows the conflict. In the beginning of 2008 BHV could already have been split;
- it was never the intention of the law makers to create a possibility to call more than one conflict of interests against the same proposal. Whoever feels their interests have been violated has to join the first conflict. Halfway 2008 BHV could already have been split.
Just in case one could still argue the interpretation of the rules of the conflicts of interest, it is not possible when it comes to the illegality of the third conflict of interests. The ones who voted the conflict are, after all, the same people who voted the first conflict (even though they wear a different 'parliamentary hat' for the occasion). Some MPs seem to be able to vote a conflict of interests twice, others (Flemish ones) cannot do that: a pure discrimination according to the constitution.
Instead of finalising the parliamentary procedure, the top of CD&V chooses to make a work group within which "talks" about BHV will take place. The proposed solutions will be approved after June 2009. The purest cheating of the voters. In doing this, the top of the party also leaves behind local leaders who have worked hard for many years to try and split BHV (hence the ironic 'support the mayors').
Governance - against Flanders
From De Panne to Opgrimbie the CD&V would fight a cabinet with a minority on Flemish side. CD&V has governed for 4 months in the mean time without a Flemish majority. The Flemish voter has been left in the cold.
Some CD&V members left the Flemish government in June 2007 in order to push through some essential reforms in the federal government. They failed and exposed the failure of the current federal structure. We do not feel to have a discussion now about where they failed, we do, however, notice that CD&V since then just goes on "governing" as though nothing is wrong. The "essential reforms" were linked to a progress in the BHV case, in the mean time. The Flemish voter has been left in the cold.
The CD&V managed to, this in only a few months, make a unique starting position to realise and waste matters for Flanders (and hence the Flemish voters), to have some politically talented people slaughtered and to completely lose their credibility. Unless the party base manages to make the top of the party change their attitude in a very short time, CD&V will be left in the cold on the 7th of June!

What a leader.

Found out today: at the elections of the 7th of June Kris Peeters (pictured) will be the leading man for CD&V.
Now we understand why he has had such a 'Flemish' attitude lately.
CD&V president Marianne Thyssen also said she called Jean-Luc Dehaene to take part in the European elections, and further
'that 95% of the Flemish government agreement has been achieved, and the party can face the voters with peace of mind as a result of this'.
The often heard sentence "Who believes those people any longer?" springs to mind again. She also praised the two 'gangsters' Yves Leterme en
Jo Vandeurzen and renegade Inge Vervotte, and she told Leterme the party 'was there for him, now that things are difficult'.
She then also felt the need to announce the CD&V is 'a flexible party', something with which I must agree 200%,
they are so flexible they can blow along with any wind. The palace calls them, they are there, there has to be a scout, they are there, the Walloons
lay down the law, they give in, big brother becomes prime minister, the Flemish principles get dumped.
What is incomprehensible to me is that I have to read reactions from readers in the press such as 'you have my vote'.
Can that party really go on making people believe anything they want, after the 'five minutes of political courage' and all the forgotten promises and Flemish demands?
Mark my words: Peeters will put on a hard and tough Flemish stance until the day of the elections, the day after he will start singing a different tune. |
17/01/2009
It takes some doing.

Yes, there has been a crisis within the socialist party.
Bert Anciaux had just left his Flemish (???) progressive party
and moved to the other red lefties ('Without any promise of a function or position', apart from his crying fits
he does have a sense of humour, you must give him that) and the trouble started.
Besides, before going on, a nice detail, first I had put Bert's cartoon on the right, but then I had second thoughts
, and I realised he has no place at the right, so I did what had to be done, as you can see.
Back on topic now, as he likes to do, which is thinking a new name gives a party new contents
and a better programme, his first job to impress his new red comrades was to demand a change of the party's name.
So, from 'socialistische partij anders (Socialist Party and different)' it had to become 'sociaal progressief anders (Sociable progressiva and different)' or something similar.
Yes, different they certainly are, especially to get on Flemings' nerves.(More about this later in this article).
However, big mouth Louis Tobback jumped up, shouting he wanted nothing to do with a name change (it is well known
what happens when he starts raving and arnting...), he was seconded by some other leaders, and it even came to a small revolution within
the party, whereby the position of the president (pictured above) was even questioned.
Not to worry, though, as said before, the red boys do not promise positions or do not do political appointments, is it
not well known all lefties do their functions out of sheer idealism? So, Caroline Gennez got a confidence vote
and stays on as president (sigh of relief, most probably).
It is really admirable what our Bert is capable of, would you not agree?
Opinion poll
Of course, the trouble within the party has other reasons too, no wonder they argue among them.
According to an article today, not one majority party would get the 20%, whereby the CD&V would be the largest party with 19.3% (can anyone
understand this?) and the socialisten (really!!) would not even make the 10%.
I do of course realise that opinion polls only have so much value, but, in all honesty, I do expect a real hammering
for some of the traditional parties too. People do not stay stupid forever, and then the partie will come and declare again 'they
understood the signal'.
More from the socialist camp
I had referred to it earlier, about the sp-a getting on peoples' nerves.
Now a few things have submerged again in Antwerp, the city of Patrick Al-Janssens.
It has been known for a long time how that man pampers 'his' immigrants in order to be sure of their votes, well,
he has given in to the AEL again. Earlier he had said he would only allow them to demonstrate if they made their own secutrity group. Furthermore, they had to produce a list with 100 names of people above 20 years of age, who would be in that group.
Even that list was too much for the AEL, what do they have to hide?
Then, Al-Janssens mentioned a list of 50 names, but that was still a bridge too far for the AEL.
Al-Janssens' latest words now go: "I shall be very glad if the security group is made, a list is really not important to me anymore".
This tells me he is going to allow any protest the AEL wants to do in the futuer and the people of Antwerp will suffer again.
Al-Janssens seems to forget the Flemings (still at this moment in time) are a majority in his city and in this country.
And then they will complain again about what the opinion polls say, and they will moan again 'they have understood the signal'.
Besides, there is more about Bert, to be found in Knack:
"Flemish minister Bert Anciaux has, for the occasion of the islamic Eid a few weeks ago, sent greeting cards to all islamic organisations and mosques from around Brussels to wish them "a Happy Eid". Furthermore, he invited - because of Eid - on the 9th of December at 12pm all involved in the islamic organisations on his cabinet for a bite to eat and a drink.
Does Bert Anciaux also send cards to all catholic organisations and church committes at Christmas , or to all socialist organisations on the 1st of May?
Are the Jewish organisations and the rabbis from the Brussels area invited to the cabinet to celebrate Easter?
Of course not! Only for the electorally interesting islamic community Bert Anciaux wants to do extra efforts.
Spread the word !!!!
And now the $64000 question:
When does Bert join the AEL of Abou JahJah ??"
Source: An article in Knack.

Sank you very much, Yves.

Today 'Sire' invited Mr. and Mrs. Leterme for lunch.
Most probably to thank him for defending his massive allowance, and for the fact he sold Flanders
(just like a real Christian Democrat always does) to the francophones once again.
That is the man of 'good governance', the one who did not need the king and the one who was going to show us, through 5 minutes of political courage,
what he meant with "More Flanders" (In other words, Flemish nationalist until the votes were counted).
Any ordinary working man who messes up and cheats and lies like he did, would have had his P45 long ago, but he is received into
the palace with open arms. Maybe they also used their lunchtime to cover up some more smelly business?

And nothing new here.
Brussels minister-president Charles Picqué (PS) thinks it is a "stupidity" the Flemish government refuses to take part
in the B-H-V work group.
"Kris Peeters jams himself"
The Brussels government leader found it stupid the Flemish government refuses to take part
in the B-H-V work group which will be started in the committee. "If they want a major state reform, it has to be achieved
under good circumstances. Kris Peeters jammed himself by promising results and he now realises nothing can be achieved
by only negotiating based on what Flanders wants", says Charles Picqué. The attitude of the Flemish
he sees as a consequence of internally 'settling the score' within CD&V.
(By the way, how many tough quotes have not heard from Christian Democrats?)
According to Picqué a nomination of the three majors by the Flemish government would be a sign of good will.
"I do not understand what is happening in Flanders and i do not think it will get better, when i see what the result of the next elections could
be", he admitted.
(Would it not be a sign of good will if those men first respected the law?)
Regarding the B-H-V-work group, a number of sources reveal
the five majority parties agreed during the brief formation talks the work group would be filled
with MPs. It appears there was never any mention of a representation of the Flemish Government.
(This shows you again in which way Martens and Van Rompuy 'negotiated' with the traditional parties). |

Everything normal.

UPDATE Now, it all of a sudden seems there was 'considerable damage' in Brussels earlier today.
Some pictures of the 'atmosphere' were added.
With the title of this article two things could be explained:
1)It is once again normal there had to be riots in Brussels, look at some signs they carry,
and on the Albert II-laan rioters overturned a car. About ten other cars were damaged. Also the windows
of a bus shelter were smashed. The police had to use the water cannon to get the situation under control.
Of course this is very normal, when that lot take action there is always vandalism involved.
2)They also write "The police asked the demonstrators to stop the protest and to go home". So, their behaviour is deemed to be
normal, and it is normal that, because of their vandalism, they are "asked to go home".
FAQ
The following questions arise of course:
- Where were the arrests, why just the water cannon?
- Didn't the police have to batter them now, or is that only for Flemings?
- Where are the CGKR, in spite of their announced actions?
- Will Tom Barman not do any 'free xtc' concerts for tolerance?
If there is another 'Black Sunday' in June, they probably will not know why, some of us will definitely see the funny side.
By the way, the jewish community demonstrated in Antwerp today. No sign of violence there.
|
09/01/2009
And they kept treating them with kids' gloves.
After all the trouble during the past weeks, when protests against viokence in GAZA got out of hand, and where
there was a lot of vandalism (the recent technical problems prevented me to write about the arrests),
they keep allowing further demonstrations.
The Antwerp council even gives the AEL a choice:
The powers that be in Antwerp had given the AEL certain conditions, such as having their own security group and
a list with 100 names of people above 20 years old, who would make up that group.
Yes, as you probably guessed, the AEL flatly refused those conditions. Consequence? They were offered new ones, and
now a list with 50 names is sufficient.
Also in Brussels, the mayors of St-Jans-Molenbeek and St-Joost-ten-Node have 'called for calm and dignified demonstrations'.
Once again the policy of double standards becomes clear. After all, serene demos and laying flowers by Flemings
and Flemish nationalist parties are forbidden and are violently stopped.
What a surprise.
Believe it or not, but the CGKR (Centre for Equal opportunities and against Racism) has made its voice heard.
The CGKR said it will complain
against any case of agression in Belgium following the Israeli offensive in the Gaza strip.
And it gets better:
"The reactions and the stances mostly stay within the frame of the rights and the
freedom of our democracy, which guarantees the freedom of speech, the freedom of opinion and the freedom to show
the latter", says the CGKR.
Strange those values all of a sudden count for the CGKR ?
(That is usually completely different when it concerns Flemings).
And there is more:
"On top of that, such offences can be punished more severely if they are inspired by hate, deprecation or hostility against religions or origins."
Now, tell me: with chants like "Jews put" and "Hamas, Hamas, Jews in the gas", what would inspire
those incidents?
De Witte's club has acted against Flemings for far less than this.

There we were again.
The last few days (almost a week, really)'The star stood hopelessly stil' (In this case the news page).
I seem to have upset someone up there again. First I could not get on to my own site for a few days, then i could not access
my control panel any more, first all messages I had posted after January 1 had disappeared, secondly I could
do no more updates, my hosting firm had messed up my password. After a lot of shouting and swearing
the problem was solved, all updates are back, and I will do the next update soon (Although I dare not make too many
promises after the things that happened recently, I am still no CD&V'er).
But OK, for the time being we are off again, fortunately it did not come to the following:

There is something rotten in the Kingdom of Belgium.

Why not start with a bit of a dramatic Shakespeare quote?
Simply, because the situation IS dramatic.
It now turns out that Hans D'hondt, former cabinet chief for Yves Leterme, and the brain behind the trouble
in the Fortis case, will just carry on as if nothing had happened, and will go on assisting the new PM Herman Van Rompuy
(pictured above). Yet, D'hondt is considered 'the spider in the web of the whole Fortis scandal', according to an article in
'De Morgen', but he just stays in office in one of the most important positions behind the scenes of the government.
Is it not brilliant to see how well CD&V look after their own? I wish they looked after John Public equally well.
Next chapter
Previously, you could read here about the other man with egg on his face, Mr. Patrick Dewael (Open VLD, pictured right).
He was promoted to Chamber president, although he had done lots of things he should not be proud of, like covering up in
the scandals within the Federal police Force. As you read previously, an investigation for forging documents is pending against him.
No problem there, of course. Although the chamber Presidency comes with resposibility over the 'Committee P.' (The Police watchdog), he is now
passing on that responsibility to François-Xavier de Donnea (MR, the francophone liberals) for four or five months.
In his own words: 'I want to avoid any hint of bias or favouritism'.
Is it not totally justified to quote Shakespeare in the title of this article?

A brilliant beginning.
We have taken a brilliant start, I would be inclined to say.
1. Antwerp
In total 13 arrests were made among the sweeties of AEL.
What did you think? Sure, they were only administratively arrested, which means they are
walking the streets again, free as a bird. 18 cases of damages were 'reported', and 'T-shirt' Patrick
Janssens (pictured) now claims that 'the police made a miscalculation during the
riots by the AEL. The mistake they have made is that they considered the protest as being
without risk'.
He does think the organisers of the protest are responsible for the protest escalating.
Mistake by organisation
"The organisers already made a first mistake by asking for permission quite late.
They also have to make sure their manifestation runs smoothly and without incdents by providing security services themselves", says Janssens.
And he waffles on:
The future
If the AEL ask permission for another manifestation in the future, the organisers will have to give better guarantees and the police will have to be prepared to face incidents.
What is that man on about? Is he not the head of police? And also, has
he not learned any lessons from previous confrontations with the AEL? Have they not
caused lots of damages in past demonstrations? So, why does he ramble about 'considering to be without a risk', 'giving better guarantees' en 'giving permission'?
Sure, almost forgot, we are talking about his potential voters. Had it been a peaceful Flemish
(or Vlaams Belang) manifestation, there would have been no permission, and the police would have been
fully prepared and ready to fight (most probably with reinforcements from Liege) having had the very clear orders to 'beat
the living daylight out of them'.
If that man is only that competent, maybe it would be best for him to consider his resignation.
In the mean time it has become known that the Forum of Jewish Organisations has put down a complaint with the CGKR
(Centre for Equal Opp. and against Racism) against the AEL because of the anti-Jewish slogans which were shouted and carried on signs.
2. Our government
This afternoon the Chamber has given he new government their trust with 88 votes against 45 (not really
something to write home about). And, we can already smell their breath: PM Herman Van Rompuy
has already announced that, where the state reform is concerned 'nothing spectacular has to be expected'.
We have been warned herewith.
The Justice department, too, is doing a great job: we have a new Justice minister, and
3 French carjackers aleady had to be released because of a fault. What a great start.
Also our brand new Chamber president Patrick Dewael has a pending investigation against him
for forging documents, it concerns matters which happened recently in the scandal of police appointments.
Rejoice, Flanders, rejoice, the new government has started. |

To all our regular visitors
 |

When will they deal with this scum once and for all?

There is the AEL again.
In Antwerp the choir boys of the Arabisch Europese Liga (Arab European League, AEL) demonstrated today against the Israelian violence in the Gaza strip.
Nothing special there, protesting is a right, and who could be aginst the fact that people protest against violence?
Although, look at the picture, where many of them have a hood on their head or a scarf wrapped round their face.
If you do a protest for a just cause, and you have nothing to fear, is there any need for that?
But of course the true colours were very soon shown, after a little while of peaceful protest, the protesters went to the Jewish area where
riots with the police started, buses and trams were attacked, and a lot of damage was done.
What a thing to happen to anyone, to find their car mangled on New Year's Eve. In the paper, there was once again not a single mention of any arrests,
had they been Flemings, they would have been beaten by the police from the beginning, or the protest would simply have been forbidden,
but the good major should not upset his potential voters.
Besides, the facts are happening in Israel/Palestine, why don't they go protesting there instead of in Antwerp?
If a major cannot even keep a protest rally in hand, the best thing for him to do is to resign.
Jewish community
In the Jewish community there is great concern. In Antwerp, the Jews are scared to go on the street, and it is also feared
the situation will get out of hand in Brussels.
Now I wonder: where is the CGKR (Centre for Equal opportunities and against racism) of Jozef 'Yussuf' De Witte now (have not heard one peep out of him yet)?
And most probably the nice young boys will once again have the full support of red, green, blue and N-VA, and they will probably do everything they can to minimise the facts. |

A notice.
Because of the busy end of year time, the newsletter which was supposed to arrive on January 1 will reach you a bit
later, and not only because of the time of year, nut a lot is to be written in it (bilingually). Fret not, though,
better late than never, you will certainly get it. |
31/12/2008
If it were not that tragic, I would almost be able to laugh.
All that appears in the papers today is really enough to give anyone a headache.
To start with:
Van Rompuy: "Government wants to sort out trust"
Trust? What trust? Whose trust?
"the financial crisis and the political crisis moments made 2008 a year of political uncertainty. Hence it is
important for the civilians to get a big feeling of certainty and trust", said the prime minister.
Does that man really listen to what he says? Does he still think the voters are idiots? As if he thinkst
the people do not see which wheelers and dealers just keep their positions, while others even get promoted.
About his plans:
State reform
"The smooth running of the institutions also depends on the state's structure", according to the new PM.
In order to reform the state, the dialogue between the communities must be restarted quickly and yield results
before the regional elections of 2009. "Community pacts must be made in fields such as the labour market, the
governing of big cities and justice."
It becomes clear here how much he wants to give in to the francophones, once again.
B-H-V
A work group within the committees of the different governments must work out proposals for solutions regarding
the problem of Brussels-Halle-Vilvoorde. "The conclusions of those must be discussed and executed at the start of the summer
2009", continues Van Rompuy.
Once again it is clear this will be delayed time and again.
Then, the attitude of some of them:
Vandeurzen and Leterme
Previous Justice minister Jo Vandeurzen (CD&V) followed the opening speech from the parliament seats, his
former colleague and fellow party member Inge Vervotte was absent. In the Senate, Yves Leterme did listen to the speech. He stayed
out of sight of the cameras and refused any comment about the recent events, however.
Leterme used to love media attention, and was always quick to justify his actions in the past?
More headlines:
Onkelinx: "Why did Vandeurzen resign?"
She wonders why
Onkelinx said a few things when she was asked Inge Vervotte's resignation, out of loyalty with Vandeurzen en
Leterme. "I wonder why Jo Vandeurzen has resigned. I think he should have just waited for the conclusions
of the investigating committee", says Onkelinx, who claims to respect Vandeurzen's decision, however.
Worrying to see which 'allies' the Christian Democrats have. After the francophones (Di Rupo, Milquet) loudly
cheered Herman Van Rompuy and his statemanship, we hear this.
Onkelinkx seems to regret Jo Vandeurzen's (her successor in Justice) resignation. Would he have been
initiated by her very well, and by her former and current partners, themselves criminal and lawyer
of all serious criminals, respectively?
In other words, would they have explained to him very well which prison doors to leave ajar, which
criminal files to handle so they would lead to procedure faults, resulting in release?
Then, the opposition speaks:
"Government plan is empty box"
The opposition are obviously not very friendly towards the new government. And I cannot really argue with their statements.
Jean-Marie Dedecker (LDD) describes it thus:"This is just Leterme II, again the sermon of a priest second in rank"
Bruno Valkeniers (Vlaams Belang) says Inge Vervotte is right when she claims there is no co-operation within the team,
nor is there any trust. The appointment of Patrick Dewael is to him "beyond shamelessness".
B-H-V
Also N-VA-fraction leader Jan Jambon has not heard anything new. "This is old wine in even older barrels. There will not be a split
of B-H-V, no state reform and no orthodox budget management", he says.
It is a bit odd this has to come from him, of all people, which party has always rejected the proposals
of Vlaams Belang for the split of BHV? The same hypocrites as their former lover, they are.
Look whose cage was rattled too
Ook Geert Lambert of VlaamsProgressieven has no understanding for the delay of the B-H-V-problems. He thinks the
government pla is "an empty box which is even badly wrapped". He concludes that Van Rompuy gave the shortest opening speech
in history. Is this an omen for the shortest government in history?,he wonders. He further
regrets there is nothing concrete in the government plan. About the delicate point of migration not a
word is said, while cdH-president and deputy PM Joëlle Milquet had demanded a proposal by the opening of the
parliamentary year in October.
With tha 'the delicate point of migration' he probably means the first thing they should have approved should have been for all female MPs to wear a head scarf.
Vlaams Belang has no expectations from the government. Disguised as social and economic problems there will be no decisions
regarding important cases such as the community problems, they say.
Finally, the opposition:
Opposition heavily criticise Dewael's appointment
Patrick Dewael (Open Vld) was today appointed new Chamber president as successor of Herman Van Rompuy (CD&V), who
became PM. Vlaams Belang and Lijst Dedecker had nominated Van Rompuy's predecessor Herman De Croo (Open Vld).
He said he was not a candidate, after which Corinne de Permentier (MR) as first deputy president in the Chamber, appointed Dewael
president without so much as a vote.
Opposition leaders
Flemish opposition leaders Gerolf Annemans (Vlaams Belang) and Jean-Marie Dedecker (LDD) resisted the candidacy of
Dewael, while their sp.a-colleague Peter Vanvelthoven called everyone to quickly end the arguing over dividing the seats. "I want to know if the government-Van Rompuy has something new to say", he said.
Gerolf Annemans: "Problems with police top"
For Annemans, the candidacy of Dewael was not a good proposition. Open Vld had to solve the problem. "He was not
motivated when he was a minister and he had problems with the police top. The party succeeded to solve the probleem and to gain a position
(the Chamber presidency), but the question for Vlaams Belang is what MR will do when the function
of European Commissioner will go to Open Vld", says Annemans. If CD&V wishes to go back to the past and to
belgicism, Vlaams Belang nominates the candidacy of Herman De Croo, continues Annemans, who also referred to
"the impressive gesture of Inge Vervotte".
Jean-Marie Dedecker: "Unacceptable"
Also Jean-Marie Dedecker deemed Patrick Dewael's appointment unacceptable. If anyone was involved in wrong business,
it was Dewael, says the LDD-president, who did not want to know about "leftovers of the government" presiding the Chamber
while an investigation against Dewael is pending. "If he cannot control his own cabinet, then he cannot exercise any control
in the Chamber", said Dedecker, who supported De Croo's nomination.
Herman De Croo: "Moving experience"
Herman De Croo announced not to be a candidate, but found it a "moving experience" to be nominated by
the most Flemish nationalist fractions. Then, first deputy de Permentier decided there was only one
candidate, after which she appointed Patrick Dewael as ne Chamber president, under protest by Annemans and Dedecker.
Patrick Dewael: "I want to be a bridge"
The new president said in his acceptance speech - which was the same number of pages long as the PM's opening speech -
he will guard over an "honest and fair debate culture in which all opinions can be heard". He wants to be a president
of all parties and all Chamber members and he will be on the Chamber's side against the government.
"Everyone's president"
"I want to be the bridge between the different linguistic communities in this country, between the young colleaguess and the older ones,
between our institutions and the civilians of the country", said Dewael, who also wants to contribute to the re-inforcement
of the law making powers of parliament by watching over the fast execution of proposals by chamber members.
"Patrick Dewael wants to be a bridge?" Yes, a bridge too far probably. "Patrick Dewael wants to be everyone's president?"
Yes, of every francophone and the ones who slavishly go with Van Rompuy I maybe?

Analysis of a Christian Democrat

Conclusion: 100% pure Pharisee.
Erik Van Rompuy (CD&V, pictured left next to his brother), the younger brother of our new prime minister, has now suddenly announced 'he will change his tone about community problems'.
On the photo you can still see him wearing the T-shirt he wore during 'De Gordel', saying 'SPLIT BHV NOW'.
Now he has said he will abstain from such comments and actions, in order not to embarrass his brother.
As you can clearly see, Christian Democrats will never change, Flemish nationalist when it suits them, but otherwise....
I am curious which present brother prime minister will give him for that.
Is it really true 800,000 Flemings voted for that bunch of hypocrites?
|
30/12/2008
What a bunch

The die has been cast.
In other words, the positions have been handed out.
To begin with, Inge Vervotte (CD&V) does not want to be part of this government anymore, out of loyalty with Yves Leterme and
Jo Vandeurzen. Would there still be one Christian Democrat with a bit of honour?
Her successor is fellow party member Steven Vanackere, who will also be deputy prime minister.
But what else do we see?
The new Justice minister - Stefaan De Clerck (CD&V) - has been justice minister before, when he was in office Marc Dutroux escaped.
The new Chamber president - Patrick Dewael (Open VLD) - has more than a bit of egg on his face in the Fortis case.
About the others who got a well paid job as a New Year present, you could read before.
Let me also mention that Inge Vervotte also thinks it is not on that the position of Chamber president goes to Patrick Dewael.
In that respect Vervotte seems consequent, but would she have talked like that had it concerned a Christian Democrat?
Apart from that there are no changes, the ones who were in office keep their original seats, including
Didier Reynders (MR), who was also heavily involved in the Fortis case, however, he is a Walloon....
Finally, N-VA have also gained 1 seat in Parliament after the split from CD&V, they go from 6 to 7 seats. No wonder they don't want early elections.
POOR FLANDERS!!!!!!!

30/12/2008
The show is over

After they, to keep up appearances, had refused their allowance on a higher index scale and went along with the
ordinary indexing, we now learn that the allowances of the gang of Laken will rise again, namely from 13,065,000 (£12,753,341 $18,512,221) naar 13,843,000 euro (£13,511,109 $19,607,309). That means an increase of 778,000 euro (£759,723 $1,102,268) or 5,6 per cent.
This is nothing but a punch in the face of the ordinary man again, we are only good to work and pay. Why does that bloke not ask his beloved walloons to support him? The Flemings are normally just dirt to him.
Then, they even have the nerve to write he is not even the most expensive king this country has ever had, more, they even dare to refer to him as 'a cheap king''.
Why does he not change his title to 'Albert the Cheap of Wallonia'?
No wonder he looks so worried in the picture, if you se what 'the cheap family' has to manage on. |
30/12/2008
Premature speculations?

It has indeed become true, what Herman Van Rompuy called 'premature speculations'.
Patrick Dewael (VLD, pictured), has indeed been nominated Chamber president, while his fellow party member Guido De Padt
has now become Home Secretary.
As mentioned earlier, operation cover-up has started again. Of course the Christian Democrats now want compensations for all the New year presents they gave to the liberals.
Who wil replace Jo Vandeurzen as Justice minister is not yet known, but that might well be one of the compensations.
Further, CD&V still stick to their guns that the 'people who left' must be able to defend themselves to the full.
Odd, when it comes to the francophones their promises and bold statements melt away,
but when it comes to their own interests they know how to put their foot down.
Finally, at the risk of repeating myself, why do they keep repeating about the defence of the CD&V'ers, while a Vlaams Belanger does not seem to get the smallest chance for a defence?
We are off again for the next round of 'cheat the people'. |
30/12/2008
Enormous fear for elections.
I have just uploaded my latest update to the server, and here is a new one:
"A principal agreement for a new government was reached", say the headlines.
it is based upon "the continuing of the current coalition, based upon the previous government agreements".
The agreement would be finalised tomorrow, and the whole day long there were meetings about the 'problems', such as eg.
restarting the dialogue between the communities, the division of the minister seats (of course that is a problem)
and the Fortis case. Not a single word about BHV or a state reform. Are those not major problems?
Also, the liberals would like to resume the presidency of the Chamber. In that context
the name of Patrick Dewael is often mentioned. According to Van Rompuy this is 'a premature speculation', however, no smoke without fire.
(Was Patrick Dewael (remember the previous article) not one of the people involved in 'irregularities'?) So, why
should he have a place in a government? And, what about, in his case (in the cases of the other 'criminals') cancelling the Parliamentary immunity?
If the agreement is finished tomorrow, there is a fair chance the government can still restart this year. Van Rompuy would then logically become prime minister.
Is he not the man who shouted from the rooftops 'he had under no circumstances any ambition to become prime minister'?
(Let us of course not forget he belongs to CD&V). |
29/12/2008
Difficulties? Agreements?

According to the latest news, Herman Van Rompuy has 'put certain difficulties on the table'. We are very
curious to know what these would be. Maybe to freeze BHV again as soon as possible? Or delay the state reform indefinitely
again? Or other measures to make the francophones happy again?
On top of that CD&V has, through spokewoman and president Marianne Thyssen asked for 'crystal clear agreements'.
Agreements which will be ignored again? Agreements such as 'five minutes of political courage', 'without delay', 'we do not join a government before...',
or, as more recently, 'I have no ambition at all to become Prime Minister'?
The president also has something to say about the investigatinf committee, which caused the resignation of Leterme's government:
"The people who "unfortunately have to say goodbye" have to, according to her, get a fair chance to defend themselves.
It must not become "a party political tribunal" at all".
Strong words, if you remember what her own protegé Jo Vandeurzen has done to Frank Vanhecke, also the political trials against Vlaams Blok/Belang,
Johan De Mol and Bart Debie, have these people and that organisation had a fair chance to defend themselves?
Further about the 'bandits' from the resigning government: why should Didier Reynders (MR) have to be part of the new government?
Was he not, just like Yves Leterme, Jo Vandeurzen en Patrick Dewael involved in 'irregularities'?
So, 'for none of them a seat in the new government' would be the logic conclusion.
It is remarkable again that Thyssen with her 'agreements' does not mean the dialogue between the communities, the state reform or BHV.
We hear voices from the opposition too, to begin the one of 'fat fish' Bart De Wever (N-VA).
He thinks 'a government without a Flemish majority is a disgrace', up to that point I can agree with him.
But after that: "We have known for a long time that Open VLD neglect the Flemish interests, but that now CD&V too choose for a government without a Flemish majority is very disappointing".
What did his mini party do when tey were 'in bed' with the CD&V? Who loudly shouted 'without delay' and 'not joining a government', whose
party did either not turn up when Vlaams Belang put BHV back on the table, or who voted against when, on another occasion Vlaams Belang repeated this?
EXACTLY!
It must really hurt to see there are no positions to be earned.
Have a good look at the picture, you should clearly see how much it must hurt. Although it is a bit
in this bloke's nature. Laughing, or even smiling, seems to hurt that man enormously. He is probably far too busy
with thinking where the next positions will come from, so he can hand them out within his party, or how he can pretend to be super Flemish nationalist but,
for the sake of licking the cream he can find a way to, like a real Judas, to plant a knife into the backs of the Flemings.
It can, of course, also be caused by constantly thinking about how he can keep the distributors of positions as friends by helping to maintain the 'cordon sanitaire', while, towards the outside, he has to give the impression
to be against that cordon. Another possibility is that he has to keep wondering day and night how (now that the Flemings are going to slaughter him in the election boot, which is why he does not want an early election)
he can gain some new votes elsewhere, eg. by protecting criminals the likes of Abou JahJah.
Would you not agree, people would walk around with a sad face constantly for far less than thia?
Another one who is not smiling at the moment is Jean-Marie Dedecker (LDD).
According to him "we get lead back for scrap metal with Herman Van Rompuy in the Wetstraat 16. What can the good man
put right in this government? Month after month that government has proven they cannot handle the problems in this country.".
I cannot really argue with that, the same as when he says "The only thing left to keep this centre left government
together, is the fear to face the voters".
Lijst Dedecker (LDD) keeps insisting on early federal election. "I do not believe that this government can survive
until after the summer. The cement is far too thin, and fear is a bad advisor", says Dedecker.
Dedecker continues: "Apart from that, the differences between the the Flemings and the francophones, and between the left
and the right in this cabinet are beyond control. They will soon have to make the final decision, and dissolve
parliament to have federal elections on June 7, 2009. Then the voter can shuffle the cards for the future of this country,
which is ungovernable without a proper state reform".
As mentioned before, one cannot really argue with the things he says, however, he was very happy again to have been invited
for a cup of coffee and a talk at the palace. What would he have said had he been appointed royal scout during that talk
or had he been given a similar royal present? Can we, once again, not detect heaps of frustrations in his words?
In my humble opinion it is time he started being clear in the things he says. On one occasion we hear
"with Belgiium if possible, without if we have to", sometimes he expresses feelings of separatism and on other occasions
he shows himself as a full blooded liberal belgicist. Or would that be a remainder of his judo days and be a
tactic to get the opponent down as quickly and effectively as possible and then to eliminate him?
And, most probably, it will not be possible to earn any positions or minister seats in the new government, which is why our friend is strongly
in favour of an early election. Let us also not forget that some polls predict a major electoral gain for LDD.

The sequel.
It has just been announced that the king has appointed Chamber President Herman Van Rompuy (CD&V) to form a government.
It is customary (but not always the case) that the person who forms the government leads it afterwards as prime minister.
However, we will see how far he gets with making a new government, since there are lots of internal divisions between the parties.
We will keep you posted on the evolution.
LATEST UPDATE And it looks like we have been had again.
Van Rompuy already gets praised by all and sundry. According to CD&V he is 'a real statesman'. Very likely, as belgicists are always just that for CD&V,
and they now see they most probably will be the side that delivers the prime minister again, but what worries me most is the fact that the Walloons, in the shape of 'Madame NON' Joelle Milquet and no one else than mafia boss Elio di Rupo
give him all their praise. They probably see that he is one who will give in to the francophones' every demand, like they have always been used to. I sincerely hope I
have got it wrong, but knowing the whole political circus, from palace to CVP and the francophone parties, I unfortunately feel I am not. |
28/12/2008
The secrecy goes on.

Earlier today, Wilfried Martens gave his final report in the palace.
This means his scouting assignment is finished.
However, there is still no clarity about whether or not a solution was reached.
What is known, is that Herman van Rompuy (pictured) is having a cup of coffee at the palace.
You know, that man who claimed not to want the job of prime minister. (He belongs to CD&V, let us not forget.).
The possibility that we soon have a government (or rather, that we let the current government go on messing about) strongly exists,
however, with this time Herman Van Rompuy as the leader. (We all know how important positions are to CD&V members).
It is possible that they have avoided (for now at least) an early election, which was the will of a majority of the people
and of some of the parties, but democracy no longer exists in this country. |

Please help this poor child!!!
For today I am going to leave poltics out, a young Flemish child needs our help to survive,
and that is worth more to me than all politicians put together.
7-year old Sandra Massart (pictured) from Temse is very ill and needs a life saving treatment which costs € 1,080,000
(£1,041,265, $1,518,421). Due to a loophole in European law (Europe normally likes to interfere enough?) the Sick Fund does not cover a single Euro of the treatment.
In Denmark, for example, all expenses for such treatment are borne completely by the Danish NHS.
Our leaders do not mind to spend tens of millions on saving hunger striking illegal immigrants, but saving the life
of an innocent Flemish child is a bridge too far.
Also, if it were the life of one of the children of one of the gangs at the palace in Laken, a treatment would most probably be started without hesitation. Most probably not a single Euro would be charged.
Now we ask all Flemings (and others) of good will to help save little Sandra's life. Any finincial donation,
even if they are only 1 Euro, are welcome, important and can help to save Sandra's life.
To help you can deposit your donation on account No. 610 - 5201090 - 41 referenced 'Sandra Massart', or you can
SMS the word 'SANDRA' to number 3140 (Most probably 00-32-3140 from abroad), in which case you donate 1 Euro.
Please show your heart and take action NOW!!!
Sandra's complete story and more information can be found here (Dutch only).
(There is also information there about paying by Paypal).
For the people who do not know where to go on Sandra's site because of language problems, I have set up a donation scheme in the Menu
point 'For sale', where people can donate between 1 and 10 Euros. All donations will be integrally transferred to Sandra's Paypal account.
In order to prove that everything is done in perfect honesty, I will mention the names of benefactors here.
Thank you very much in advance. |

Nothing but Mumbo Jumbo again.

Our dearest scout Wilfried Martens (pictured) says he has had 'constructive' talks with the presidents
of the five majority parties today.
However, he did not disclose who will have to lead the new government or how long that government would have to go.
He says 'it is up to the king to appoint a government formationer'. He also said he was working on 'a stable objective'.
It looks more like he is working according to the usual CVP system, ie. be secretive, have two or more faces, and do everything to safeguard
your position(s). |

Our best wishes.
We would like to wish our visitors a Merry and peaceful Christmas. |

Some more resources for our visitors.
Some nice Christmas cards were added to our E-card Gallery. |
24/12/2008
The circus has started.
Tonight our dearest Wilfried Martens gave the king an update on his scouting.
Afterwards he refused to give any comment. What are they keeping from us this time?
He had talked to sacked minister Jo Vandeurzen (CD&V) and president Caroline Gennez (s-pa), and
afterwards he talked to members of the opposition. Bart De Wever (N-VA) once again loudly mentioned he would support any majority
which are willing to split BHV. He also added no minister seats are required in return. (Don't
make me laugh, please). Also 'loud mouth' Jean-Marie Dedecker (LDD) had a cup of coffee
with the scout (sometimes nationalist, then belgicist), while the members of 'Groen!', 'Vl-Pro' and
'Ecolo' had their chance to be heard.
Who was once again ignored was Vlaams Belang, after all, the papers had already announced he was seeing the members of the
'democratic' opposition parties.
Vlaams Belang immediately organised a protest action.

What else have they got in store for us?

You might be surprised, but Albert II has accepted the resignation of Leterme I.
But what he did after that really beggars belief.
Al he did was dig up Wilfried Marrtens (pictured) and appointed him as scout.
We do remember Martens nog as the man of the uncountable number of governments with his name in the 80s.
We remember him as a man who said (when he was young) "Give the Flemings weapons" and once he was prime minister
he spat in our faces continuously and stabbed us in the back without ending. Recently he also got known as
the Christiandemocrat who went through three marriages.
In his words: 'It is evident' that someone in the palace is getting senile. Please let those early elections come soon,
then they will be able to say 'they understood the signal' again.

In the foreign press once again.
We already knew that the foreign press remains very interested in the crisis which is going on in our country.
Someone who comments on the matter very frequently is the British Conservative MEP
Daniel Hannan.
Today, the British paper The Telegraph publishes one of his articles again, you can find it here
and it is called Belgium is without a Government - again .

We are off again.
I briefly commented, in the wee small hours of the morning, about the government crisis, since then a lot has been said,
though very little has been done. (Only in Belgium).
After the Fortis mess and the, already legendary, incompetent approach in our country, Yves Leterme's
situation had become impossible. He subsequently offered the king the resignation of his government.
At the same time the resignation of Justice Minister Jo Vandeurzen was offered, his cabinet was
partly responsible for the tribulations in Cassation during the Fortis case. He also has more egg on his face,
as the last few days, some dangerous criminals almost had to be released because of the bungling and the
incompetence of the Justice Department.
However, like we are getting used to by now, our dearest Albert II has delayed his decision with regards to
accepting the resignation. (He must really like Leterme, the way he works to safeguard his own and his protege's
positions).
However, later today it turns out that he, while having his consultations, he is considering
to let the same government make a new start, but without Yves Leterme.
It does strike that the positions have temporarily lost their attraction. Believe it or not,
Kris Peeters (CD&V) is no candidate to become PM, and in the liberal party (which have become, since thet cartel CD&V-N-VA
broke up, the largest political family) the will to claim the PM seat is not very existing.
We have to be careful what we say, of course, as, knowing both aforementioned parties, there is a
big difference between their words and their actions (Remember Leterme: 'five minutes of political courage', 'We will not join a government'....).
Another very typical thing, the CD&V's former lover, the N-VA, are now putting all the blame one CD&V, while, not so long ago,
they defrauded, took advantage and broke their word along with CD&V. They are, however, rather opposed to an early election, after all,
what would be left of their party if we had elections now?
And the Christian Democrats seem to suffer from obsessions too, as, according to the CD&V-top, the things that happened in the last few days are 'a deed of good governance'.
Does anyone who reads this understand? Also, according to fossile Mark Eyskens, 'Leterme is still the man of the future'.
We shall wait a little while, and we will see what happens. Most probably we don't even have to think about an early election,
as in Laken they will do everything to avoid another 'black Sunday' and they will do all they can so that the whole farce will
will once again suit the francophones best.
We shall keep following the matter and we shall constantly keep you informed about any evolutions.

Rejoice, Flanders, rejoice!!!
And I am not talking about the (currently) resigning government at this time, but rather about the fact
our problems seem to be solved.
The E-mail system is fully functional again.
So, get the messages coming in.. Once again, please accept our sincere apologies for all the inconvenience.
It has got a bit late in the mean time (after 3 am), therefore, from tomorrow (or later today, if you wish)
you will be able to read about the government crisis. |

A bit of news, a bit of hope
As news I can tell you the left wing clique of Vlaamse(????)Progressieven (Flemish Progressives)have been shown up good and proper once again.
Today, it became known that Bettina Geysen (pictured) gave herself a rich salary as president of the
miniature party, just to give a bit of show with a head scarf and a burca.
Her wages came to a measly € 15,000 (£14,248, $21,453) a month (try living on that), while she was 'embarrassed' earlier
by her wheeling and dealing and high expences with the (equally 'progressive' and red)
VRT. And there was us thinking the 'progressives' devoted their lives to the man in the street, the weaker, the
less better off...
Well, we might not have listened well or were informed incorrectly, maybe?
The best one is all of it was revealed by 'waterworks' Bert Anciaux, was he
not there when the fee was negotiated and approved?
And it gets better: 'Melt like snow' Geert Lambert claims 'not to know the correct amount' (where
was he during the negotiation and approval, in the steam room maybe?), however, he does claim 'the figure is exaggerated',
how, he did not know the amount, did he?
Anyway, that bunch are not worth spending too many words on.

Another cracker today, did they think it was April 1st, or is it time for end of year jokes in the press?
According to the same 'Het Laatste Nieuws' is Bert Shake (aka Albert II of Belgium)
"The hardest working royal".
This can obviously not be very difficult, when the others do not do anything at all, it is not so difficult to be the
champion.
They are not very specific in the paper, as they mention some audiences (160 to be precise,
and of those our dearest Yves Leterme (more about him later on) his favourite guest
with a total of 30. However, they did fail to mention how busy Bert is with hunting women and producing illegitimate babies.
No wonder he gets such a huge allowance for such a busy life.
Best of all, his busy activities can be followed on this site (multilingual including English).

Then, a word about this gentleman:
There is no further need to talk about his (empty) promises, his (during election time) Flemish reflex, his good governing, 'five
minutes political courage', (together with his former cartel partner) 'without delay' and all his other CVP tricks,
is there? Enough ink has already been wasted on that.
However, today he got his comeuppance in Parliament.
He has, as everyone knows, once again made one mistake after the other. Some examples: his interfering in the Fortis case,
not stepping in when the cabinet Vandeurzen (Justice Minister) makes one error after the other and almost lets dangerous criminals go,
I could carry on a bit longer, but lack of space and time prevent that.
However, here is a selection of the things he got to hear today:
Sp.a-Chamber fraction leader Peter Vanvelthoven: "You mention bringing clarity, but you have not created that clarity. Not only have you lost all trust in this Parliament. No one trusts you any longer".
Vlaams Belang-fraction leader Gerolf Annemans: "How much deeper can you fall? For a long time I thought that you like Tindemans in 1978 would leave the stand and go to the palace to offer your resignation".
Jean-Marie Dedecker (LDD):"This investigating commission becomes your last Calvary".
And finally (although those would better keep quiet):
N-VA'er Jan Jambon: "We were going to do better than purple. Now we can weigh up things. Here, the credibility of politics is being thrown away".
(Je moet toch maar durven, vind ik).
Thus far the quotes by some members of the opposition.

Then, finally about the hope:
At the moment our E-mail system is unfortunately still down. I can, as mentioned earlier, still send e-mails, but unfortunately I cannot receive any yet.
I am now constantly bending my ISP's ear and bombarding them with messages to solve the problem without delay (unfortunately it is a problem over which I have no control myself).
All I can do is to ask my loyal visitors to be patient a little while longer, and once again I wish to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
As soon as the problem is resolved I shall post it here. |

Trouble, trouble
Our loyal visitors will probably have noticed there have not been any updates for a while, the site also disappeared
from the web completely over the last few days.
We have had enormous problems, and it will take days, if not weeks of work to get everything running properly
again.
At least I am able to post updates again now, but I cannot receive e-mails yet. So, if an e-mail bounces,
it is due to the problem. Please be patient a little while longer.
At least I was able to send out the newsletter (a short one though) out today.Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Thank you for your patience and understanding,
The webmaster.
